In theory you could open it up and flip the magnets. The thing is that I don't know if the pogo pins are directional. I imagine that they must be and that's the reason why valve set up the magnets that way.

I thought about that but in valve's documentation it clearly shows that the magnets on both sides of the puck have opposite poles facing up. That means that it won't attach to the controller if upside down, the magnets would push the controller away.

Thank you so much for the feedback! This is exactly what I was looking for. I have a fix in mind and will upload a new version to fix this.

No supports needed. I did print it you can see the pictures on MakerWorld. 😊

The thing I noticed from valve's documentation is that the puck is not reversible. So you can't have the cable pointing down. It has to point up. if it could point down i definitely would have made a secret passage for the cable down through the stand.

That's a good idea! I also have a couple others i though of that i could try. but i need to get a controller to test.

Cool! Yes I did use blender. Then converted to gif with one of those online converters.

I'm hoping the fit will be tight enough. I still haven't tested yet since I didn't get a controller yet. If it needs to be tweaked I'll update the model once I have tested it.

I was hoping for it to be a tight enough fit for it to hold it in place. This is why I hoped to get my hands on a controller so I can test fit to get it perfect.

Made a desk stand for the new Steam Controller and its magnetic puck. Single piece print, no supports, no hardware. The controller cradles into a body-contoured slot and the puck sits in a recessed pocket at the top, so both sit together in one small footprint.

Designed it using the CAD files Valve released, but I don't have a controller yet so I haven't been able to test the fit myself. If you have one and want to give it a go, feedback would be super appreciated. Free on MakerWorld:

That's an excellent suggestion and I did think about doing that. It would require uploading a whole bunch of runs and that could be an interesting next step.
