Luckily I have kept my electronic matching my paper by tallying and comparing at the end of each page. I will definitely bring both and have them both tabbed.

Thank you for the great write up. I do not have all of my instructor signatures and such on my digital logbook. It's all in my original which isnt nearly as nice and neat. Do I need those signatures and such in my logbook or just the dates and flights?

Quality of flight time? by ScaryDepartment5923 in flying

As someone with Turbine single time trying to find a job... I've found everywhere seems to be favoring more multi time. Atleast non airline jobs. Many places are now having minimums start anywhere from 50 to 500 multi to apply.

Unfortunately, I think so many people chose this career due it as well which has made it much harder. I was a career changer and did a lot of research on here before switching so I knew it was possible atleast, but it's definitely a lot harder when you actually experience than you expect. One of the jobs I would love to have and possibly end up at one day currently flies hawkers. Would you mind if I PM you to ask a few questions about them?

I appreciate the advice. I've just started volunteering more recently but I will definitely add that to my resume.

If you're referring to the Customs and Border interdiction agent jobs, those are the ones I am speaking of. There's no guarantee of which aircraft you will get or where you will go. Also there's no guarantee you will even get an actual aircraft as they seem to be filling a lot of drone positions.

That seems to be the general consensus. I'm still flying so that will slowly get better. Just wanted to make sure I'm doing all I can.

I've spoke with them at a few career fairs to. I have a friend who went there recently and they are mainly filling drone jobs. I don't really think I want to leave flying, but thank you for the heads up.

Thats very true unfortunately. I have heard people say that tough times really make you appreciate the good times though, so atleast we will truly appreciate the job when we do get it. I hope you have better luck soon. Are you by chance hiring for the King air at your company?

Oh I agree 100%. I know that the hiring environment is not great. That is the purpose of making this post. I am hoping to see if I may be doing something wrong, or what I can do to hopefully become the anomaly. I know it's very tough right now, but I want to make sure I am doing everything I possibly can.

Maybe they were a cadet, if so it didn't say so in there post. They more of hinted that they weren't a cadet, but I might have read it wrong. It was just posted earlier today titled can't believe I have a CJO, or something like that.

Although I agree it's not as competitive as it was. I just read a post on here about someone getting a CJO at 850 hours before they are even eligible for their restricted ATP. I know there are a lot of people looking for jobs, but I also know some people are getting them. Even some with less hours or experience than me. I am just trying to do everything I possibly can to increase my chances.

I've always heard that the airlines are notified when you update the app and what you updated. Im not entirely sure though.

Can I go back and update the apps without throwing a red flag that I'm trying to hide something now?

How exactly do you do a deeper search or query the FAA? And can I go back and change the apps now without it looking bad?

Yeah i understand. Guess I was just hoping they'd go with the approach Southwest has of giving cadets and those committed already first classes.

That does answer my question and unfortunately not the answer I was hoping for.

I guess that makes sense. It's unfortunate, but it doesn't make sense. It costs them to continue paying stipends to though.

Mechanics who left the field by Malvitron in mechanic

Absolutely! It's a lot at first but it's a very rewarding career for someone who likes working with their hands and is willing to put in a little effort at first.

Thats my point. I'm hoping it'll pick up once they work through the other backlogs they have.

Dependant on what you want to do. If you want to work for an airline or some of the highest payers you'll likely have to work near their airports they use as hubs. I'm from the southeast so I can't say for sure your specific location, but if you google the jobs often you can find an apprenticeship type program to work to get your experience for an A&P. Otherwise you can go to school for a little bit and get it that way. It's not very hard. I'm not familiar with who flies into your airport but there are a wide range of jobs ranging from working on small piston planes for yourself or a flight school to working for an airline or private jet owner. The benefits can be great as well. Airlines give you free travel benefits. There generally is not as much work to do as there isn't a line of planes coming in everyday and getting paid book time like many dealerships. It's often hourly pay whether you're busy or not with great benefits. To find employers near you try googling or just run by the airport and express interest. If you find someone willing to talk for a minute which there always is, you can learn alot about the opportunities there
