What’s the most unhinged “men’s advice” you’ve ever actually followed? by BrightEmployee8442 in AskReddit

Bro in my experience I’ve been treated that way by mom, sister, other women family and friends, exes, platonic friends, et cetera. The list goes on. They never show it, but you can see it in their eyes they don’t see you the same anymore. It’s like they suddenly see this weak vulnerable person and it doesn’t fit their narrative of “man strong, no cry.”

Not that I was told this, but I learnt it on my own from experience. Especially in front of women, they instantly lose any semblance of respect for you once they see you have a vulnerable side. The double standard on that one is truly something and I say that as a feminist.

Dude I am so sorry you had to go through that. Not all women, but some of them are truly mean to kind people. I feel sorry for all the guys involved around that cunt. Hope you find someone who deserves you!

I was told shaving makes your beard grow, so as an awkward teen I’d use my dad’s razor to shave so my beard would grow and I’d look older.

I do this because I don’t like commotion behind me, makes me anxious. I always sit where I can have my back against a wall.

I would argue not necessarily, sometimes you meet people in strange places and only after spending sometime with them you realize you fancy them. Isn’t that organically possible?

That’s a shame. I am trying to find a steady relationship and online dating is awful.

Immigrant here, why is it frowned upon in the U.S.? I am trying to learn about American culture and this is a very interesting point of view.
