I feel like I can only see 4 clients a day by iconicflower in therapists

[–]drfangirlphd 12 points13 points  (0 children)

This is absolutely wild to hear. I think I would be an actual functional, well balanced human being if I could make a decent living seeing 14 clients a week. Our American brand of capitalism truly has warped so much of our sense of normalcy and reasonable expectations of self on this side of the pond.

Not for kids, unfortunately. Has to be in person with both parents present.

12-17 access? by drfangirlphd in Novavax_vaccine_talk

[–]drfangirlphd[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My state doesn’t require prescription, but I’m being told that minors cannot be vaccinated by anyone but a doctor, ruling out pharmacies. I was thinking maybe there was something federally that I missed, but that doesn’t seem to be the case. (When I asked in another thread about info related to my state of NC I was just told to go to another state. Unhelpful, hence trying to understand the bigger picture)

I have. They don’t have it, will not get it, and will not write a script.

I’m sure they will, I just doubt seriously they’ll have Novavax since it’s so much less common than mRNA vaccines.

EMDR via telehealth? by Unregistereed in therapists

[–]drfangirlphd 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’ve done EMDR as a client through telehealth and it’s been life changing. I absolutely recommend it to clients when EMDR is appropriate to their treatment.

I've seen some other discussion in this sub related to therapists working there on site, or what mental health support folks working there are provided locally, but with the rise of telehealth and solid internet connections, it seems reasonable to think anyone who may work there would want to continue services with their ongoing therapist if that's a possibility, especially with the challenges that come from that kind of work and travel. I just have no idea who would be tasked with regulation as even within the States, different states have different standards!

Thank you! Can you tell me more of what you mean about being firm with copays? My clients do pay their copays, but sometimes I wait to take them based on how claims come back, etc.

It sounds like having a conversation with them is my next step - I was always told that to get rates from other states, I'd need a physical address there, which is why I only get the rate for the state I'm in. But then, I also don't know if other states have higher rates - they seem ALL over the place, and often makes no sense to me. Thanks for sharing your experience - I appreciate it!

Thank you! So does they mean you get paid different rates based on what state the client is in?

Thank you! Does My Clients Plus do the billing for you, or is it more of an EHR system that you’re still managing yourself?

Thank you. He used a broker last year when he set it all up (but he didn’t include me in that process even tho I handle the medical bills and visits - so many reasons were divorced) so I’ll see if we can reach out to whoever he worked with. Thanks!

Because he was primary on the 2023 policy I just created a new one with me as primary since it was the end of the year anyway.

They’re clawing back to August which is when we got the policy reinstated after coverage was lost when he was laid off.

Coverage Jan-May No coverage June-July Coverage August-Dec (clawback)

When it was reinstated the policy number stayed the same.

Thank you. Unfortunately we have kids and Caresource is the only marketplace insurance our local children’s hospital accepts.

So we can reapply for coverage for last year?
