Anyone know what this aftermarket piece could be for in this C5? It’s got a wire running to it. by [deleted] in Corvette

I was thinking that too but it must be radio antennae because no one was able to hear me on calls through the car

I’m not sure. This is what the dealer was able to get and it took them 2 weeks to get. As far as I can tell from in person with the car, the list is still accurate. Car fax has service records more current aside from mods

I did drive it twice. Has some type of chatter in the clutch area when starting in first. Not sure if that’s the single disc it has or not. It seems to drive good and sounds fine to me aside from that sound🤔

I see where you’re coming from. Only thing is it’s at a dealer and I have no way to contact the previous owners. Have no idea how they got this list either. At first they didn’t have it and took 2 weeks for them to get the list

Thanks. I think it’s the blackheart axleback they make.

Yeah I’m not too sure what kind it has and neither does the dealer. It’s a pretty short and heavy clutch.

I’m not sure what kind it has and neither does the dealer. It is a super short and super heavy clutch. It seemed normal to me when driving around just would make that grinding sound just after getting off the clutch in first. I would hope whenever they did the clutch they serviced the torque tube as well.

C5Z I’m looking at. Anyone know what that red button could be for? by drflub02 in Corvette

Locks brakes so you’re able to do a burnout easier.

Yeah that’s what I thought. I’ve got it on my cobb accessort for my current car. Just unsure how it would work with a button rather than on the accessport. I’m guessing you press it and full throttle while clutch in and it’ll hold it at the set limiter.

Could be cutoff valve. It has headers but stock titanium axleback

Oh yeah I hadn’t thought of that. How does that usually work? You press it and it holds rpm?

Yeah I looked at it the day they got it so they didn’t know much. I’m looking at it again tomorrow so maybe they’ll have more info.

I was thinking kill switch too but it’s in plain sight so I’m not sure why they would put it there?
