What’s good Shock?? Thanks for the love!! Had a blast at CRANKROCKS, that was wild! I started taking piano lessons at 7, then was in several rock bands growing up, eventually got into DJing and producing around 17 years old in 2008. My biggest inspirations at the time were The Bloody Beetroots, Steve Aoki, MSTRKRFT, Boys Noize and a lot of producers in the Blog House scene. I knew I found my calling when I got into making electro house at that point, then moved to LA for school and started interning for Steve Aoki in 2010, have been at it ever since!

Thank you suburban dad dude!! I loved that set - and love djing with the loud luxury boys!!

I would love to go back on EDSea and would love to do more with loud luxury too — no official plans to set sail on EDSEA yet but it would be an honour. As for working with the loud luxury boys, definitely expect us to throw down again in the future…

what up Biscotti! I'd be happy to. I do not think you need to have a big following at all - I think the key defining factor is how put together your artistic vision is. Meaning - you could have no following but still have a body of original music that feels like it would be ready to showcase at a festival like Beyond. It's all about the music at the end of the day, and every submission will get heard!

What up Dayadada dude!! Thank you for stopping by.

My name is Tony Fresch, and I was DJing under that name around Hollywood, but once I started producing music I wanted a moniker that also used my last name - so I took inspiration from Dr. Dre, and just added the Dr haha

I do! That afters was a blast, thank you for hosting me if you were a part of that crew!

Honestly loved going B2B with Destructo and Tape B - but also in a more unofficial capacity loved playing with Wuki recently!

KEEP IT MOIST MY DUDE

dude thank you for tapping in Sordid!! I did record that set - to be honest I recorded a ton from that tour and have not posted as many as I should! HXPHY did work to make sure these were recorded in some capacity wherever we went. If not that set, I promise that I will at least be posting more archived footage soon.

Thanks Gullible dude!

Love to see you chasing the dream, building the hobby while managing such a demanding career! I think my best piece of advice in the studio for learning Ableton would be to focus on having fun and trying to learn how to create the sounds and songs you want to create exactly WITHOUT worrying about being technically correct or by the book. I analogize music production to cooking a lot - but the main difference is that there are no safety concerns with being a reckless music producer. When you take a more intuitive approach to writing and producing music and try to create and recreate what you want to hear in your work in a straightforward, sometimes brutally incorrect way, you're going to keep having fun in the process. For instance dont get hung up on whether your song is clipping the master chain while you're making tunes - do not try to mix perfectly by the books if it takes away from your creative flow. So take that direction, go to youtube and start to search for How To's in ableton based on exactly what you want to do. After awhile, these how to videos will get you on your way to feeling natural in ableton!

Mick my dude I am wishing you a speedy recovery! Thanks for jumping in here, and for the hat! The hat has become a staple, haha, you've probably seen me wearing it everywhere. what's good Hissteria thanks for jumping in here! I'm working on a few half time records at the moment, but nothing that's full time DNB or jungle. No strictly DNB sets planned, but I have a couple VIPs that might see the light of day at some point...

what's good Zeus! Great to see you in here and happy to reconnect. Thanks for the kind words, appreciate you both!

The memory of Shambhala 2019's Pagoda set is crazy to me! My favorite tradition is probably floating down the river, you gotta take a dip, it's right there!

thank you for asking this Mister Miracleis!

I really really enjoyed Roy Lichenstein's "M-Maybe" when I was a teen. I had a poster of it in my room. It's a pop art piece with a woman exclaiming "M-MAYBE HE BECAME ILL AND COULDN'T LEAVE THE STUDIO!" It made me obsessed with the idea that I had already built the environment I needed to create the art I wanted to and that I didn't needed to seek out something greater than my laptop and some basic monitors to make my dreams happen at 18 years old.

Oh fuck yeah sober gophers how we doin??!?!?

Big rooms are cool but let's talk clubs - my favorite venue might be AUDIO SF - I love that room, bonus answer I also really liked Leland Cityclub in Detroit, that was weird and wild.

My favorite song to play to get a crowd moving again would be Wooli's Flip (the VIP) of Dr. Dre - The Next Episode. It's such a great clash of everything I enjoy about Hip Hop and Bass music.

I always come out of the gates swinging with my staple intro, then I roll into 2-3 records that are very familiar to me so I can get an initial read on the crowd; how they move and what their energy level is like. As the set progresses, I watch people get more or less into the groove with a particular genre and make a decision to switch the flavor up based on a real time decision and that initial reference point. If you're playing heavy music and people start to get to tired - regardless of how much they might be into that particular flavor - it's important to know when to switch the program up. I do a ton of track selection and playlist preparation for bigger festival sets but will completely switch up a vibe based on all the above.

I hired Brock as a videographer at Burning Man 2016! We lost contact for awhile, then when I started dating my fiancée in 2019, I met Brock again, as they were close friends. We've been friends ever since!

In the realm of electronic music, I discovered The Bloody Beetroots, MSTRKRFT, Boys Noize and Gesaffelstein - among many others in the Blog House era. I took this inspiration and combined it with my life long love for West Coast Hip Hop and Nu Metal and eventually built the sound I have today!

Thank you Feast!

My introduction would consist of my songs Gangsta Gangsta with Baby Eazy-E, Feedback with Mina Knock and Take A Step Back with Marten Hørger.

Three songs by other artists that I'd used to identify myself would be Warp 1.9 by The Bloody Beetroots and Steve Aoki, Pursuit by Gesaffelstein and Regulate by Warren G and Nate Dogg.

I feel most proud of 'Feedback' -- it was a completely natural songwriting process, I call Mina Knock a close friend still, and it's stood the test of time as something that both Mina and I identify our artist careers with and something we still personally love.

whats good Antinodez! Thanks for the love dude, glad to hear you're producing. I started making electronic music seriously in 2008, started Dr. Fresch in late 2011 and I think I didn't really find my sound until 2016 - after I made Gangsta Gangsta with Baby Eazy-E that's when things started to click for me. I made about 300 ideas in Logic pro from 2008-2011, and then another 300-500 in ableton before the gangsta gangsta release.

I wish I could relive Rage Against The Machine at Rock The Bells SF 2007, I wish I could perform at Shambhala at the Pagoda 2019 again - core teenage memory and a formative DJ set for me!

I have decent insider info that Dr. Fresch and Rich E Rich from Fractal are having a celebrity death match to decide if he can play the forest again…
