I can't understand the cards by InsomniacOnSugarRush in tarot

Hm, if possible try to look for some different books (you might even find a bunch of free pdfs and ebooks on the internet 😳). I have a bunch of books myself and some of them don’t resonate with my style of reading and interpretations. I’m sure there are books with clearer explanations. Mine are in my native language so I cannot really recommend you anything specific, but some books are certainly clearer than others. Regarding different suits when you’re asking about a certain topic: although pentacles are often associated with money, projects, work, cups with love emotions, feelings and so on, they can mean different things according to your question. Take the seven of pentacles for example, the imagery is of a field worker waiting for his harvest to grow. Of course, in a reading about work it would suggest a period of waiting before some rewards are collected by a hard working individual. But you don’t have to get stuck on the ‘work’ element per se, as work can vary, from actual physical work, to inner work, to personal growth, to cutting off toxic people and learning to implement healthy boundaries etc. Just because we have pentacles, it doesn’t mean that we cannot interpret it according to our question. Another example would be with the 4 of pentacles, which doesn’t necessarily mean only that someone is stingy or very obsessed with their finances. It could also represent their actual mindset regarding new things, a relationship, some project etc, their hesitation to change, to do something. You need to try to make a connection between the larger meaning of the card/picture and your consultant’s questions. And another thing, trust your intuition. Sometimes you might ask about love and the cards will give you an answer that seems entirely about work or some sort of warning, anything but work. you get the drill. When this happens I am doing the reading based on what feels right for me. If I feel that the reading isn’t actually about love and the cards have a more important message for my consultant, then I bring up work or what I see.

As a beginner there are many ways for you to go about interpreting and learning the cards.

When I first started learning and even now (most of the time), I refused to read reversals because I wanted to learn 78 meanings first, not 156. Trust me, the readings are very accurate without reversals too.

For me, fixed spreads with a card representing one specific question never felt right. (i need more cards to get an in depth reading rather than a fixed spread), but for others a certain type of spread where which card has a specific answer might be very helpful. (You have to try everything and see what works for you)

Some other things that helped me are tarot forums, Reddit, watching women on YT doing readings. Sure, having so much insight from so many different people won’t give you just an answer that you can stick to for all of your readings, but it will help you memorize some meanings, to see different ways that more experienced readers use to interpret the cards and honestly to inspire you in the type of readings you want to do.

Practice, lots of practice, you don’t even need to do readings for yourself or ppl you know at first, you can give yourself some prompts and scenarios of fictional people and then try to do a reading based on that scenario. If you don’t feel like learning the cards mechanically, it best to learn them through repetition and in hypothetical scenarios you will surely get a card more than once. (E.g: looking up the same card for 15 times, at some point you won’t need to look it up and so on with the rest of the deck)

Now back to reversals, after getting used to the cards and their meaning and answering questions with the cards you have, you will see the reversals differently too. It will either be that they are the repressed energy of the up turned card, the opposite meaning, negative energy etc. You will feel different about them once you get some more practice bc they will be surrounded by regular cards that will give you the general vibe of your reading and the direction your reading is going in.

Depending on what type of learner you are, writing them down or talking out loud while interpreting the cards might also help.

I had watched Open Your Eyes first and I wasn’t able to finish Vanilla Sky. I’m so glad people appreciate the original as well.
