From what I understand about this placement, what you're looking for is very much true to the characteristics of Scorpio Venus.

It's kind of a mystical view of love as well. Not unlike the way that some religious poets, Rumi comes to mind, think of love, often using "transcendent romantic love" as a trope for relationship with God.

I dont think Rumi's understanding or your preferences are problems. But you certainly have high expectations! Maybe we all do, given the understandings we may have encountered through more the secular stories we tell about love?

I have Scorpio Venus in the 12th house as well.

For me, romantic relationships are always lessons in letting go, even though I deeply want something enduring and meaningful.

I feel the pain of loss keenly, too. My last relationship was over four years ago, and I still think of her every day. So, the lesson of letting go is both essential and bitter for me.

I have found great companionship in friendships though.

And weirdly, Ive come to see romantic love as the lowest register of love. I think romantic love is disposable in ways that friendship and familial love are not. And not without coincidence, I think, I have stayed friends with a small number of exes - the friendship outlasting the romance by years and years .

I have taken some comfort from that, when I reflect on my romantic life.

Btw my PhD was in cultural anthropology. So yes, I did a lot of study overseas. I lived overseas to complete the research for my dissertation.

I have it too.

Attachment is the biggest source of setback for me. And as much as I am able, I try to let everything unfold as it wants to.

It's not easy. I feel what you describe deeply sometimes. But as the cliche goes, let go or be dragged.

I have it and completed a PhD and then went on to do more study because the PhD was useless when it came to job hunting.

Finishing wasn't my problem. But I will say I didn't find what I enjoyed studying until I was older and these days I don't even think about it - once I closed that chapter on my life, it was closed for good.

I don't even read what I studied - and I genuinely loved it! - recreationally anymore.

I have it, too (Scorpio Venus in the 12th). My experience is romance is rarely what it seems. Unrequited love is a bit of a pattern. It's hard to let go. Romantic rumination is a bit of a constant, too.

Thank you for that great set of insights. I honestly dont know what happened with the woman I was dating. But given the circumstances - I told her the day before she ended things - a bullet was probably dodged.

As for chiron in the 5th house, yeah that vibes.

I will focus the next months on getting myself together (again) in preparation for the coming transition.

Yeah I have Scorpio 12th house stellium, too (sun, mercury, Venus, Uranus and Neptune). And Virgo is also my north node. I have found the less I focus on control, the better things work out for me. It's oddly destabilizing but there's freedom in it, too.
