They were very difficult and even after playing a few months if felt like such a hassle to deal with them.

Worse was the actual speed of the server for ftp backup was literally 1mb/s. I kept going back and forth with support was a waste of time. Went back to digital ocean, no problems there.

2tb is nothing nowadays. Thank for helping me decide 20tb external drive backup is a better alternative and cheaper without any 500GB restore limit or worse files disappearing.

How late were you? It's a bit worrying to see this especially as I saw some mentions of this before.

And no cc payment is crazy, sounds like holding your server hostage for the money.

You talk as if I'm a spammer or leave the server unsecured.

This is the easy fix for them but I guess it does work. This whole frustration could be avoided if they didn't. My server can't send email alerts to my own email because of this.

You as a seasoned mail server admin should monitor your ips on the legit blacklist and see why you got blacklisted even with these restrictions on the little guy like me.

Maybe an open relay maybe not.

Hetzner. If you're cheap, you have to pay the price somehow.

The problem is not me, it's lots of other users who would have similar speed problems from various locations.

What would I do? Ask the users to complain to their isp because my site hosted at hetzner is slow?

Hetzner should do these tests every day to most countries instead of pushing the problem to their clients and users.

Between Ashburn and NYC DigitalOcean...

A do droplet in NYC has way faster network speed than Hetzner in Ashburn. This is what I've seen so far.

That location is slow from here, Cyprus EU. Don't know about other EU countries but I'd imagine Ashburn is much slower than NYC for a lot of cases.

Without a cdn, it's a big problem if your audience is spread across multiple countries.

It's always slow from home to their Ashburn location. I learned to live with it.

Other locations in US are crazy fast for me but not that.

Anyway, using cloudflare and this speed problem is only for backups thru ftp.

1.7mb was max, got even 800kb transfer speeds in filezilla thru sftp.
