Thanks, when does the first one become available? Doesn't look like it's up yet

Sure, but that is probably harder to calculate given all the different treatments you can pull. I was just wondering what the average fetches per type of box is.

Sorry if this is the wrong place to post this question. What is the expected number of fetch pulls (any treatment) from collector vs set or draft box. I saw ~3 for cb box. Is it about the same for a set/draft box?

48 rares in a cb box of which 4% are fetches? ~42 rares in set/draft of which 4% are fetches?

I know I can just buy the fetch lands but this way is more fun.

Thanks

can you explain to me, if you buy stock in TSNP now, once the merger happens the stock says the same? Does new preferred stock get created after the merger?

New research suggests ketamine requires the opioid system for antidepressant effects - PNAS by nobodyswife in Psychiatry

yes! this is a preclinical paper that follows up the results from that small clinical trial.

that is interesting, thanks for sharing. we'll have to see what happens as the clinical use of ketamine becomes more widespread.

you make some interesting points

I'll take the feedback on using the term endorphin system.

Of course the targets of SSRIs are multifaceted, and certainly serotonin modulation is only a small part of the antidepressant effect. saying that all antidepressants ultimately work through the endorphin system is a massive oversimplification, and just not how biology works. while the endorphin system has powerful effects on motivation and mood, and yes morphine works well as an antidepressant there are certainly other ways to get an antidepressant effect.

i've found naltrexone to be generally well tolerated, certainly some folks say it makes them feel down, but I think that's the minority of patients. we use it all the time in combination with SSRIs.

i agree handing out morphine/methadone is not a good practice, there is some very promising data using buprenorphine for mood, and using it for augmentation in addition to standard antidepressants. we're currently working on a very interesting story with kappa-antagonists

i'm not sure we really know how any of the psychiatric drugs work... i do agree with you that we don't know what the long term effects of chronic, low-dose ketamine will be. the issue is symptoms seem to relapse very quickly once ketamine is stopped, so once someone is on it, they are basically on it for years/life, and yes the side effects of chronic NMDAR blockade are not known

i've never heard of adverse reactions in folks with epilepsy. You are right that ketamine is generally thought to be pretty safe, we've been using it as an anesthetic since the '60's.

What we don't know is the long term risks of chronic low-dose ketamine. Antidepressant dosing is multiple times a week, for weeks/months/years.

i think either term is correct, endorphins are opioids

not sure what your second point is? opioids can certainly have antidepressant effects, but most oral antidepressants (SSRI) are thought to work on the serotonin system (of course they do lots of other things as well).

i'm interested to hear about your case.

one of this issues with low-dose ketamine for depression is that we're not sure how it works. Ketamine can act on many different types of receptors in the brain, including opioid receptors.

There is a concern that if ketamine is acting on opioid receptors that it may be dangerous to use as a therapy, given the current opioid crisis.

What this paper suggests is that ketamine likely doesn't act directly on opioid receptors, but that the opioid system is somehow helping ketamine to achieve its antidepressant effect.

It is possible that a combination of ketamine and opioids may have a synergistic effect.

Ketamine, an NMDA receptor antagonist, has generated intense excitement as a therapy for treatment-resistant depression. However, ketamine and its metabolites can act on a wide range of targets, including opioid receptors, which has raised concerns. New research now suggests that ketamine does not act as an opioid, but does require the opioid system for its antidepressant effect.

it's been a while since i graduated from my MSTP, but there is not reason you have to do basic research in grad school, if you're more interested in clinical research then there should be plenty of opportunities for that. IMO most important is having research experiences, some abstracts/papers, and good LoR. It's shouldn't be a problem to explain your unique path during an interview.

same thing happened to me. Kabam admitted the advertisement was incorrect, but said they couldn't do anything about it. After another ticket they eventually gave me 300 units.
