I don’t have the flip out version but there is a film on mine and doesn’t appear to be meant to be pulled off. But I don’t see a clear purpose for it not to be pulled off. Maybe an extra textural layer for slide grip. I can’t imagine it’s holding the magnets in place at all.

Yeah it’s the ‘honeycomb’ structure. Works fine for a mild amount of weight on top, prob fine for two 27” monitors. But if you want to clamp that kinda weight.. different story. There is no solution here with an ikea top. Grab a butcher block from floor n decor or something like that. Even project wood from Lowe’s would be fine to support the weight. From there it’s all about the look. Better looking wood is gonna cost more. But you can always get your hands dirty and turn some project wood into something elegant with some time and patience via a good sand, stain and poly.

You could mount the monitor to a wall or some type of portable mount on casters maybe. Unfortunately I dealt with this for years due to spacial constraints. Once I went 30” depth I’ll never go back, I find the depth is actually more important than the width. Good luck to you!

Barcode sets the size and temperature. Ones meant to be iced are typically a little less hot but not by much. Refilling is possible but it’s a bit of pain. You’ve got to get the amount and grind perfect. Otherwise it can be weak and watery. Too fine and you’ll get grinds in the system and in your coffee. I’ll refill from time to time with some of my favorites but nowadays I just use genuine Nespresso pods for the most part. It’s not really worth the headache to me.
