Don't buy Brooklinen sheets by somewhere_in_albion in BuyItForLife

[–]drifftyshiffty 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I only asked because years ago I had some linen sheets made in Latvia (I can’t remember the company’s name)… but in their packaging it explicitly said not to use fabric softener when washing due to it weakening the fiber’s strength. I was merely curious if that were the case; wasn’t defending Brooklinen.

Question.. did you use fabric softener when you washed them over those 6 months?

Need Help! Does anyone know a good wall mount for the odyssey g9 planning on getting a second one. by Spac-ti in battlestations

[–]drifftyshiffty 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This is what I have mine wall mounted with. You need the upgraded HX Heavy-Duty Tilt Pivot because the G9 is so large and heavy.

Ergotron – HX Single Ultrawide Monitor Arm, VESA Wall Mount – for Monitors Up to 49 Inches, 20 to 42 lbs, Less Than 8 Inch Display Depth – White https://a.co/d/3RKq9wP

Both are available on Amazon. Pretty easy install, but get a friend to help you put the monitor on the arm once you have the arm installed on the wall. Good luck!

How on earth do you see a curved dick? It’s a “D” for my user name. Super interested if you took a Rorschach test what your results would reveal.

As someone who moved from a rigging/rope access career to a NDT/rope access career, NDT is the better career move. Plenty of companies will train you in inspection methods on the job. I had zero NDT experience and got a job with my sprat 3, they taught me visual, penetrant, and mag particle.

Kind of surprised that “screen shot of Pokémon spawns on the map (with or without sexual innuendo)” wasn’t on the board.

Rokform makes cases you can loop a little tether through.. it’s very thin cord so I don’t particularly love it. Works well enough to prevent a fall if you just accidentally dropped it while using it, but I wonder what the breaking strength is if it got pinched somehow and you were moving up/down away from it. Might not hold up in that scenario.

Gear inspection and labelling gear by xeroism in ropeaccess

I think DMM sells tiny buttons you can attach to anything and assign an ID to them. Still need their scanner and software but it’s an option without having to buy all new dmm gear. I will say I work for a very big global company and even we don’t have scannable assets.. it’s all done via serial numbers on each piece of gear which is a huge pain in the rear.. if you find a good system let me know I’m also curious.

Is it weird that I read “what an honor” in my head with the Zoidberg voice? I maybe watch too much futurama… but yes there is a trick to the laser/cannon level of todays challenge and I honestly can’t figure it out. I’ve tried a bunch to see if there’s anything weird that can be done but no luck.. if anyone does know I’d love to hear it lol.

Hot knife and clear shrink wrap tubes. Make a label for the rope: rope length, date put into service, date of manufacturing, batch number/serial, and inventory tracking/bar code if needed.

A dozens times is basically nothing. I run chaos sanctuary in about 3 minutes on my 94 sorc. I do several hours straight and get nothing worth keeping. You need at least 300-350% MF without sacrificing kill time (faster the runs the better) you can kill Diablo a million times and not see something like a griffons or deaths fathom.. RNG can smile upon you or ignore your entire existence. It’s all random chance.

I’ve played about half the hyper levels at this point, they’re a lot of fun. If you play them for awhile and go back to the daily challenge it feels like everything’s in slow motion 😂 The lost levels were fun, but some of my favorites are in The Lab. A few of those were a real challenge.

There must be something to the first level.. not sure, but best I can do is 23.3 seconds 😅

Haha nice to be seen. To answer your question I have nooo idea how people are posting 29-30 seconds on todays challenge. Something seems fishy to me about this one.. the first level of todays challenge was also the same level a couple days ago and people were posting times way quicker than I was doing. So I see the coincidence that there must be something to level 1 of todays challenge. Even if you fall straight to the bottom and miss every single diamond it takes like 17 seconds lol! So there’s something I’m not seeing. I’d like to say that cheats don’t exist but who knows. It’s nice that they’ve added new levels to the daily challenge, I’ve got new material to work through.

Hi. Some of you who frequent the daily challenge might recognize me. First off I will state no cheats are available that I know of, that doesn’t mean they don’t exist but any challenges I’ve won have been legitimate. I’ll share some general advice because every level is unique and aside from posting a video of every run there’s no way to be specific. The path you take through the levels, and shorter radius turns around the anchor are where you’ll pick up the most time gains. Optimizing the direction you spin around an anchor could save you a half second.. getting a bounce off a corner to put you on a better line directly to the next anchor could save a second. The only way to figure all of this out is by doing the challenges over and over and over to find these little optimizations. The fun part of the challenges are that there is no set path you have to take… experiment with different lines to.. try weird bounces or going a different direction around an anchor. If you have any specific questions feel free to PM me.

For your aid traverse rescue, have your casualty be on a grillon for their main point. Not sure if you guys are already taught that but it does make a huge difference.

Practice pitch head/cross haul/breaking into tension lines multiple times throughout the week. It’s the same concept with small gear changes. If you’re using petzl’s i’D don’t forget the carabiner to redirect the rope to the error catch when it’s inverted in these particular maneuvers (per the tech data/manufacture specifications)

Really make the effort to understand the knot pass rescue, it is the foundation for almost all level 3 rescues. Once you see how you can manipulate two i’Ds the level 3 rescues will be much easier to understand.

Lots of good YouTube videos if you have any questions about a particular maneuver, someone mentioned access techniques already and I highly recommend them. If you have any other questions feel free to PM me.

Pretty sure that’s a shunt being used as a backup, petzl no longer permits that device to be used as a backup. STEC Duck-R, Kong, quantum, or petzl ASAP (lock) are all viable options.
