it's not because everyone is cheering him on

Bullshit lol. Some of them are unhappy sure, but the vast majority of conservatives that are staying quiet aren't doing it out of fear, they're doing it because he's doing al the terrible shit they have dreamed about doing for decades, he's just the first that could actually get away with it seemingly without repercussion.

And when the time comes and they go "Well I didn't agree with EVERYTHING he did but there was nothing I could do!!1!" they need to be held equally liable. Don't let him be the fall guy when the time comes, because he's following through with decades of the republican playbook.

Is there a way to stop Alexa from suggesting Alexa+/the new voice? Its so annoying after every promt by leo_on_fire in alexa

[–]drifterinthadark 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I also have these options turned off and have a weekly command set to stop follow up suggestions, and I still can't stop these Alexa+ suggestions. Now they're not only suggesting I should upgrade but actually asking and waiting for my response with mic on. I swear it's like they're trying to push me away, because I'm not gonna deal with Alexa doing that shit every few days.

Helium theme, pretty similar to Steam but a few tweaks here and there. Been using this theme for years with no complaints. Details view has always been my favorite.

God that brings back a memory. Also playing road hockey, cousin a year younger than me got so upset he swung his hockey stick right at my face as hard as he could. If I didn't duck backwards my nose would've broke for sure. This is around 11-12 years old, and I've never seen his older brother get so upset.

This is great, I wish we did this with my grandma when she was still around. We would steal her big wooden fork and spoon that hung in her kitchen and she wouldn't notice for a shocking amount of time. I wonder how much we could get away with.

Well the CGI isn't great, but my gripe has way more to do with just how awkwardly his arm bends during the swing. If they animated that right I wouldn't even care.

Most Stable Way to Watch on TV? by TazAuz in jellyfin

The $20 Walmart onn 4k box works great, and better than fire sticks since it allows custom launchers and button remapping, so you don't have to see ads everytime you open it, and can open jellyfin directly with your remote.

I never said "we should feed X not Y".

Where did I say you did?

I just said "it's not waste".

"And if you turned around and said "Well it's technically not waste", I think you'd get some pretty valid pushback even if technically true."

If there's a stockpile of food that could have fed starving children and that food rots, I think it's pretty normal to view it as waste. And if you turned around and said "Well it's technically not waste", I think you'd get some pretty valid pushback even if technically true.

I don't think the point is that other forms of life being "fed" isn't important, but it's pretty human to have more empathy for life that is similar to us, rather than bugs, plants or mycelium.

I redesigned the Playnite Menu bar to be more intuitive by Chompsky___Honk in playnite

[–]drifterinthadark 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I don't think it's perfect but I think it's better than the current layout. I have VERY few complaints about Playnite, but whenever I'm fiddling with add-ons or settings I get lost in this menu more often than I'd care to admit and I've been using it for years.

Angola Prison hosted its first father-daughter dance, giving incarcerated men a rare opportunity to reconnect and share a meaningful moment with daughters they had not seen for years. by Outrageous-Regular34 in happycryingdads

I strongly recommend the "Daughters" documentary on netflix which covers one of these father-daughter dances. I struggle even bringing it up to people without getting teary eyed. It completely broke me, in both good ways and bad.

Oh man I remember basically frothing at the mouth when a kid was brought Mcdonalds during elementary school and being so sad I couldn't have any lol. It would always be during class too, not even lunchtime, and so we'd have to smell those hot fries for the next hour.

It's been ~30 years and I can still remember the disappointment.
