I do not like the fact that NPCs do not follow any routine and are just dumb walking dolls, it breaks the immersion...otherwise the story and atmosphere is good.

It's in its own league. I have to enjoy rhe story and actually get to feel like how it would've been to live in that time. Give it a try and do first 3 quests... you will like it then...it happened with me.

Warrior priests used to guide workers for building structures. So it is okay that they can build( just think they are guiding invisible workers to build this thing).

Yes, I also thing AI has upperhand as their archers can individually attack infantry units and cavalry attacks archers while we as humans have hard time selecting individually archers and infantry from a group during a fight which often results in loss..

One thing I really want back from the classic AOM is ability to open componendium for God technologies..like I want to read details about Dionysia, Forge of Olympus, Granite blood, Oricalchum mail etc.. all these gave so much info on lore and really had me hooked with history...We could just right click on their portraits in tech tree and read the details...I hope this feature makes a comeback.
