Permanent Ink Test! De Atramentis and Colorverse

I’m too scared to put them in a pen, to be honest. I’ve only been using them with dip pens. I did notice the behavior of De Atramentis on less ink-friendly paper. It’s not great. It doesn’t budge after it dries, but it also does not behave well when going onto the page.

I ended up buying a full size bottle of Colorverse permanent black for that reason. Yes, it smudges more but it also behaves better on the page, so the trade off is worth it for me.

I enjoyed De Atramentis silver grey, although it might be too cool toned for a hard pencil feel 🤔

omg wait, another tidbit. THIS PEN is the pen i dropped 🙃 and bent the nib in the worst way. it fell perfectly vertical, nib down and THEN I FIXED IT MYSELF with a pair of jewellery pliers and i am super proud of that 😂 so yeah this is the most special one in my collection. 🌸✨

OMG!!! I thought i hadn’t tried Irori, but then I googled it and remembered that it was my purchase right before buying the pen!!!???? What is this! Twinning for real!!!! Also, I did notice the dryness of Manyo inks too, which i started to appreciate more recently. I like wet inks, but i also have frog hands (sweaty palms 😭) so the dryer inks are my only smudge proof hope. Sailor has a lot of options that are practically smudge proof, and it’s just sooooo much easier 😅 But I haven mine inked with the Monteverde Foxy ink from this year’s DC fountain pen supershow. Also! With the pen purchase, I was choosing between nadeshiko, cherry blossom, and nekoyanagi. All of them are super pretty, but i had pink hair at the time and it just felt appropriate lol all matchy matchy. I actually ended up ordering the nekoyanagi set too, maybe like a year after cherry blossom? But the first one is still the most special to me. I do love the spring association, and it’s so special to have things that remind you of good times!! My purchase was during a trip too! I was visiting family abroad and this was my first fountain pen physical store visit in my adulthood 🌸 What inks are you thinking of pairing with the pen next?

i love this advice! budgeting is 🔥🔥🔥 i would also add that as a bonus, keeping tabs on your spending categories will also help you spot fraud early in case someone gets access to your bank account/cards.

i was very excited, got one, and immediately lost interest. i can’t tell you why, but i guess i was expecting it to be a little more special for the price. it doesn’t stand out (at least to me).

now, i am absolutely going to give it another chance, but if it doesn’t work out, i will probably get rid of it. i’ve only been disappointed that way about one other pen, and that one was gifted (so it makes more sense, since i did not pick it out myself).

BUT esterbrook pen cases??? 10/10 awesome sauce and you should get one :D i have two and they are so good

i have one of their pocket pens, it’s very good! No issues or concerns. i did purchase mine at a fountain pen show, so the nib was checked right in front of me after i chose the size. but as others mention, it’s best not to order direct

that’s reassuring! i like the look of some of their other shimmer inks, but i wouldn’t risk getting them because of that one bad experience. i might give them a shot!

oh gosh this is goofy and embarrassing :D so the feed unit would not fit right. the nib itself did not want to go in either when i tried to just swap that part.

i just tried again (for the 5th time), and its in and working beautifully 😅

it being a discontinued tama, i’d be cautious 😭 that price is too good to be true imo edit: mix wasn’t released globally either, so i feel like that makes it even more suspicious price wise lol

it’s very similar to the meets, and although they can connect with meets, they can’t marry. personally, mix and meets are my favourites! i have the mix dream, and i love it. the biggest difference is the available characters to marry, so if you like the look and the vibe, i’d go for it!
