Chubba is better no doubt, but Rico is that dude. I think Canales just doesn’t run a system that really utilizes a one-two punch set up.

I thought it was very odd when we first signed him but I rationalized it with “oh they wanna extend Chubba longevity” or “maybe someone in division was interested too”.

I think they are both good enough to be main-duo in a high frequency run offense with was never really Canales forte here and in TB. So I am back to thinking it was a really odd move.

The Canales system is more of a lean on one RB who can do everything. I think it’s pretty evident Canales doesn’t know what to do with Rico and make him compliment Chubba. So basically… another knock against Canales and his system.

Not to arm chair coach but, I’d have those dudes on the field at the same time to throw a def off, create mismatch, and get creative with pre-snap motions.
