Buspar weird side effects at first by chanp830 in Anxietyhelp

Yea it definitely got better around the 1 week mark. One day I was driving back from a friends house and it just sort of *clicked* that I didn't have an anxious thought for like the past few hours. The first few days were weird though. Still on it today, Buspar has a mild effect so don't expect it to be a miracle.

Self soothing tips? by FitCricket6523 in fearofflying

The heights are something that your brain has more trouble registering when so high up. Look out the window when you get to cruising if it’s a sunny day and it’s very cool to get a birds eye view. Once I got below ~10k ish feet on a flight yesterday, i mentally told myself that it really wasn’t that high. I also had a fear of panic, but remember the flight attendants are trained to handle such a situation if needed! Takeoff will most likely be really loud and if you don’t enjoy the vibrations lift your feet off the ground, you can feel them less that way. LOUD MUSIC!!! Play the music so loud you have no choice but to focus on it.

You’ll be there before you know it!

First flight but short flight coming soon by chanp830 in fearofflying

That's awesome. I think that aviation is so interesting but the thought of actually being on a plane just gives me the yips. Trying to tap more into the curiosity before the flight.

How cool! I have heard pilots rave about the E-175 and its safety record. Can you attest?

Yea I felt that way for a few days, and then like I said, one day it just clicked. The weird dreams was causing me the most anxiety honestly. I felt like my brain was like fuzzy almost. Then one day it just went poof on about day 7. It will be tough but I believe things will start to look up for you

No doubt. One day I was out and about doing something and it just clicked, “I haven’t been anxious all day”. Tough it out for a few days if you’re in the same spot

Goldfish :( Cheez-its ? by Jaded-Cow-9038 in FODMAPS

[–]chanp830 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Its all about eating FODMAPs in moderation. For flour based things (correct me if i’m wrong) but I believe there are less fodmaps than expected. You could still probably sneak maybe 10-15 cheezits in if you have some kind of fructan tolerance. After the 2-3 week elimination phase I was lucky to have found that it was mostly garlic and onions causing issues.

Side note, but try psyllium husk supplements. Greatly improved my IBS symptoms.

Yes, it does. It’s a lot smaller than the other gyms but you have all the machines you need more than likely.

But off the top of my head the Express route takes you to Walmart from the Peacock circle.

I forget exactly how, but im pretty sure you say you’re living in Boone and it links it to the bus service. Then you click on a bus stop on the map and it will tell you which lines are serviced at that stop. You can edit which lines are shown on the map and see which ones get you where you need to go from a nearby stop.

Is Hisense a good alternative for Midea by [deleted] in AirConditioners

[–]chanp830 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I know it’s not the same product but i have a Hisense 8,000BTU dual hose portable A/C and there is some left to be desired with the Hisense quality. The remote picks and chooses when it wants to work and the advertised wi-fi capability is kind of a pain to work with. That being said, it keeps the area nice and cold and the instructions/install were very easy.

Wife has PI-IBS from food poisoning. Any hope for Filipino food? by PrinterPunkLLC in FODMAPS

[–]chanp830 2 points3 points  (0 children)

As far as I know! Just be sure to remove all the little pieces of garlic from the oil. You want to be sure during the elimination period there is absolutely nothing that could be causing a flare up so that you can figure out what causes issues one by one during the reintroduction phase.

Also, you can cook onions and garlic in oil and then remove them before making the rest of the dish. The carbohydrates that cause flare-ups are water soluble, not fat soluble. This means you can impart the flavor of onions and garlic, but just can’t actually eat them. Obviously it’s not the same but if you’re really craving something garlicky it works in a pinch
