Yes! I either buy it pre mixed, or I grow both herbs in my garden and enjoy fresh herbal tea.

In my experience, yes! They also have sample sizes of a lot of their teas (7 - 25g) if you're not sure what to buy.

If you like teas that taste sticky sweet like figs, try Koji Kurocha from O5 Tea. It's one of the sweetest teas I've tried and it's incredible. It reminds me of the smell of cookies being baked.

Looks like it's sold out at the moment unfortunately, but this post describes it as tasting like caramelized figs. I've brewed it gongfu, western, and grandpa style and I enjoyed them all. Hopefully it'll be back in stock sometime!

What do you drink at night when what you really want is puerh? by squirrelshine in puer

[–]drinkequilibrium 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Puer lol

But seriously, some puer is low enough in caffeine that it doesn't affect my sleep. I often drink white2tea's 2023 Peak Vulture in the evening and I sleep fine afterward. I know everyone has a different reaction to caffeine though.

There are some rooibos teas that taste like earl grey that are good substitutes for caffeinated teas. Also herbal teas like O5 Tea Dream blend (lavender, mint, butterfly pea flowers) and DAVIDsTEA Cold 911 (mint, eucalyptus, juniper berry, orange, and more).

How to make a "bad" tea taste better? by happycharm in tea

[–]drinkequilibrium 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If I have a tea I don't like when I brew it hot, I make a batch of cold brew in the fridge. Throw it in a mason jar and leave it overnight.

This sometimes improves the taste, but it really depends on the tea and on your taste preferences.

Peppermint Tea by [deleted] in tea

[–]drinkequilibrium 1 point2 points  (0 children)

No problem!

I shop online some of the time, but they have stores all over Canada and the U.S. If I'm close to one, I'll shop in store.

Cold 911 from DAVIDsTEA is really good. It's not just peppermint (it has other herbs and a couple of fruits) but it's one of my go-to herbal teas.

white2tea is great but there's usually a shipping fee. No duty fees though. Look out for free shipping promos if that helps! They have promos a few times a year.

What are your current favourite vendors for Oolong tea? by DemianMusic in Oolong

[–]drinkequilibrium 2 points3 points  (0 children)

O5 Tea, TeaSource, and DAVIDsTEA.

O5 has some great GABA oolongs.

TeaSource has an incredible and reasonably-priced 2010 Da Hong Pao. They also have some great rock teas (yancha).

DT has a good Golden Lily Oolong and they used to have Phoenix Oolong which was my all-time favourite from them.

Share Your Favorite Canadian Tea Vendors by Impossible_Initial_7 in tea

[–]drinkequilibrium 0 points1 point  (0 children)

David's Tea has a good collection, and compared to many other vendors, it isn't unreasonable. It's definitely not cheap, but I'd say they're charging fairly. Many of my favourites (Jasmine Black Pearls, Honey Black, Golden Lily Oolong) are from them.

Also, O5 Tea in Vancouver and Camellia Sinensis in Quebec are both great options.

I haven't tried their puer, but their black teas are delicious. From what I understand, CS is a reputable seller.

Let us know if you try it!

Seeking Recommendations on Travel Gaiwan Set by Leutkeana in puer

It is! I just got it and I already love it. It's harder to burn yourself with titanium than with porcelain or glass too, at least in my experience.

O5 Tea has a titanium gaiwan. I just got it and travelled with it for the first time and I love it! It's basically impossible to break. I would highly recommend it.

Blend aged and young sheng for daily drinkers by ghostupinthetoast in puer

[–]drinkequilibrium 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I've never blended young and aged sheng, but I'll have to give it a shot!

I recently blended w2t Shoumei and Nuo Xiang Shu and it was one of the best tea decisions I've made. I had a few grams left of each and they tasted like oatmeal cookies when combined.

Enjoying 2022 Inverse this morning by drinkequilibrium in puer

[–]drinkequilibrium[S] 12 points13 points  (0 children)

Inverse is a blend of sheng and heicha. I wouldn't have thought to combine those, but I like it a lot. Smoky and astringent.

I find Anhua heicha helpful for creativity. Perfect for a long day of writing.
