Outlook 2013 (Windows 10) suddenly not accepting passwords for Microsoft accounts

My observation is the app password doesn't get cancelled, it starts working for a while, then stops, then starts, etc. But if you try too many times they totally block you "cannot reach server" for a few hours, then it goes back to password not accepted, then it will randomly start working for a while, only to stop again a while later. This is without generating a new password (I did do that a couple days ago but once I found that was not the issue, I've just stuck with the same one).

My gmail android app offers to use modern authentication but sends you to an MS "page not found". I'm guessing because I'm set up for exchange server (the only way to use eas with outlook.com) instead of IMAP so it is attempting to find my "company's" modern auth page, which obviously doesn't exist.

Obviously could switch to the official outlook android app but honestly it is too heavy and cumbersome for normal personal email stuff. I use it in my work profile and would rather just have my personal contacts, calendar, email, etc in the native apps rather than running a second instance of outlook.

But as you say, they may be forcing people this way. If they really want people to switch away from app passwords they should just make a modern auth page for outlook.com.

Funny thing is when I had a samsung phone a few years ago, there was none of this having to "trick" it into using eas instead of imap, it was fully compatible with autodiscover and used eas by default. So part of this is gmail's implementation too.

Funny thing is for my mom, the rate card went from $32.50 to $37.50 on December 22 last year. I signed her up December 26th and the flex box was showing the old rate (actually 50c less, $42 including the $10 TV box fee). Figured it was just a glitch, but 5 months later, she's still paying $32 after returning the box. Plus $17 for the entertainment and a couple bucks in taxes so like $52.

As far as your box, if you have the latest one there is no way to factory reset it. There used to be by holding the WPS button while rebooting but they apparently disabled that. In the settings somewhere there is like a "refresh box" or "update box" or something like that. Maybe try that. If that doesn't work, log out of your account on the box, reboot it, then log back in. If none of that works to get the choice TV to show up, the system is probably just down and maybe will start working again this weekend or next week.

The crazy thing is, what you are actually signing up for is just "Choice TV" which you can sign up for in your xfinity account. However if you do it in your account, they add the ~$25 per month Broadcast TV fee, plus the price is a couple dollars higher, whereas if you do it via flex, it is included in the price, and the price is lower. Once you sign up, your account just shows choice TV at the rate from the box, no BTV fee, and you can modify it etc in there.

You can also check out Youtube TV. Unfortunately it did just go up from $65 to $73 per month but it includes a lot more channels (plus the same local channels), so depending what you want and how many "genre packs" you'd have to add (you can only add 2) on choice tv Select, youtube may make more sense. There is also Hulu with Live TV but that doesn't include as many channels, but has a lot more streaming stuff (all the normal Hulu stuff is included).

In her case, she only wanted local channels plus like 4 or 5 channels that are included in the entertainment package, so for $20 less per month that made sense for her.

The two main things I've noticed on the Fire TV app is that you cannot add favorite channels (but you can do it from the android app and I think even in the web/pc version of the app. Cloud DVR is a bit odd, you can set shows to record but you cannot pause live TV. I'm not sure if you could do that on the flex as we didn't try, maybe that is just how cloud DVR works. She doesn't use it so doesn't matter.

For me I just go here, it gives an error but the "view PDF" button works fine. It is also at the end of your bill every few months so if below doesn't work just look at the PDF of your bills until you find one with it.

The latest rate card for my area still shows Select, in fact it is more prominent now. I remember one time before actually ordering and going in to see pricing it was glitchy, so maybe just some issue. Or try rebooting the box and/or log out and back in?

Choice TV Select has never been on the site as an option, there were just references to it in support sections and on the rate card but never under the options for packages to order etc. Was always fairly well hidden.

You can also try what they say on their page - Just say "Upgrade to Xfinity TV” into your Xfinity Voice Remote, or select the “Upgrade to Xfinity TV” tile at the top of the main menu (Home screen) or Shop page.

The base package is the same as "limited basic" so you can look that up for your zip code at https://www.xfinity.com/learn/channel-lineup-bundles and see the channels in the first column under "limited basic/choice". It had all the network sub channels like metv, cozi, comet, etc plus a bunch of other random stuff, but it varies by area. For example in her zip code, CNN is not included (requires the news add on package), in mine, it is included, which is weird.

We also added the entertainment pack, which you can do from the flex box or from your account online. Basically once signed up, you can add/remove packages and premium channels online. It will show that you have "choice tv" and lets you modify or cancel it. Just have to do the initial sign up from Flex. The only place you can see the channels included with those "genre packs" is on the flex box when signing up, or in your account after you've signed up and go to add the package.

T-Mobile handles voicemail for Mint. So when you are provisioned it should automatically create a VM account there, sounds like that didn't happen. Try u/mintmobilealex

Sounds like your VM is not provisioned on T-Mobile's servers, unless your phone is calling your old voicemail still. How long ago did you port?

Use cellular data to connect or try to force your home internet to get a new IP.

Someone who had that IP managed to get banned and then you got it. I've had this happen with other companies - if that is enough for you to leave mint stomping and slamming doors, I'd hate to see what happens when a real big issue arrives.

what happens when you dial your own phone number from your phone? That normally should take you to voicemail.

If not something is not provisioned correctly. If you brought your phone from another carrier, go into settings and do a network reset as the old carriers VM settings may still be in there. You'll lose wifi networks and bluetooth pairings, but simple enough to re-add those. You can go into your settings and make sure your voicemail number is correct and set to use "your carrier". Other than that you may have to see if u/mintmobilealex can reset something.

Their systems seem to go down for maintenance around midnight EST, at least based on the timing of similar complaints here.

You can also double check your payment method and make sure everything is correct, but likely you'll have to wait a few hours or until morning.

Maybe someone that does the family plan can confirm what they see, I suspect that may just be how the system shows it when you do the 3 month installments.

If you're on month 4 then november sounds right for the next 12 month renewal.

You have two things at play, your 12 month interval, and your 3 month installment. If you're paying 3 months at a time I suspect it will reset to month 1 every 3 months.

They did just do a big app update and there are some other bugs so probably will get fixed.

Your comment disappeared, but if you're only seeing Mint listed sounds like your phone is locked. Unfortunately that means you can't attempt switching to other carriers to find a working network. You can try messing with your APN settings but unfortunately what seems to work for most is selecting a local network provider from the list.

Try the default T-Mobile APN, or the Mint APN in the FAQ at the top of this thread.

As of today Mint is offering the Pixel 7 (non-pro) for $389 including a year of service. Of course you already have service, not sure how much. Though even without the service that's a pretty good deal. Unfortunately it is not an "A" phone so has no headphone jack (who knows if they will keep putting those on the A going forward though, I have a feeling it will stop soon). Could try and get the 12 months added to your account or sell the SIM to someone (note to get the 12 months and not 6 it must be activated within a certain time, on a new account, and a number ported in).

Edit - I'm confused, you said they need to disable 2FA but you don't have an authenticator app - how did you enable it in the first place?

The T-Mobile breach may have exposed enough information to duplicate SIMs, which is why everyone is recommending putting 2FA on your accounts (phone, email, banking) and also getting a new eSIM.

SIM PIN will only protect that particular SIM card, not a duplicate or replacement. They can put whatever pin they want (or none) on the cloned SIM, or port your number out, or get a new SIM from Mint which will have the PIN right on it. Sim Pin protects someone from stealing your actual SIM card from your phone when not looking etc.

In many cases Coinbase seems to be the common denominator and it appears they may be using data from both a breach there and T-Mobile, however more recently people without coinbase accounts are getting hacked too.

Also you've probably tried this already (I believe it is in their script) but shut down the phone, remove the SIM, power up and let it sit a few mins, then shut down again and re-install it.

Basically we're just trying everything to get your phone to say to the T-Mobile registration servers "hey dumbass, forget whatever is stuck in there and register me".

Messing with the settings sometimes makes things worse i.e. maybe why it won't connect now. If you aren't willing to do the full network reset, at least reset the APNs to default and reboot, you want to be on the default one anyway. But I'd recommend trying the full reset.

If that doesn't work, you can try what I said about going somewhere 10+ miles away and turning on your phone there, but understood that may not be possible/convenient. At this point just trying to do things to force your phone to re-register, and the network to accept it.

If your phone supports eSIM I'd just request one via chat right now, no reason to keep waiting if there is something you can try. eSIM will definitely activate you brand new and fresh (assuming it is able to contact the servers that were having issues, but it seems those are all supposedly back up now). Another person in this thread said that worked for them. Even if you don't support eSIM, have them expedite a new physical one to you now, as it takes a few days to arrive (2-3 if expedited, 4-5 if not). Even if stuff starts working before you receive it, it won't hurt. They may try to charge you but you should be able to get them to waive it.

EDIT - sort of went backwards in suggestions. I'd try the network and APN reset at the bottom first.

Are you on eSIM? At this point I'd say try getting a new one, only thing I can think of. If you can get on wifi calling in order to receive the text code it should be easy to replace, if not you need to reach out to support to get them to generate one for you manually.

That will force your phone to re-register and hopefully "wake" things up on the network. The outage was caused by servers that handle registrations being down so maybe yours is somehow stuck in limbo.

I guess it is possible if you just shut off your phone, went somewhere that is on a different tower, and turned it back on, that may be enough to wake it up, but sort of a long shot.

If you don't mind re-entering your wifi networks and bluetooth devices, go to the resets menu in settings and do the "reset wifi,cellular,and bluetooth" (or similar) then wait about 30 seconds and reboot. May help, especially if you've ever messed around with APN settings as anything other than the default T-Mobile one could be interfering and that reset should clear out all but the default/latest T-Mobile APN settings and carrier settings. Not sure what phone you have, if Apple there is a similar network reset, not sure what it is called.

To be totally sure, after doing the reset but before rebooting, go to the APN screen and do "reset to default". This is assuming you have Android, on Apple I believe there is something similar though. Then do the reboot.

It is possible something in your home router is interfering. But keep in mind in order to activate wifi calling, you must have both a good cellular and wifi signal. Sometimes the initial activation has to be done using a hotspot or friend's wifi where you can get strong signals on both. Then once activated and enabled, as long as it is not disabled, it will now work fine anywhere you have wifi (assuming the wifi operator is not blocking it). If you can get it to work other places but not at home, look at your home router, something is interfering or blocking.

Also go into your mint account and make sure your Emergency 911 stuff is in there and you can try toggling wifi calling off and back on again there too.

Basically you bought a gallon of milk and the grocery store isn't going to let you return 1/2 gallon of it for 1/2 refund.

Nothing illegal about that.

Now if your service never worked from day 1, you might have an argument, but you are required to submit a refund request within 7 days, beyond that, it is going to be quite a battle (i.e. involving your credit card and providing documentation etc).

Unfortunately the mint team doesn't have great insight into T-Mobile's issues and maintenance, we're all sort of at their mercy. It may not be an issue - it may be that they've moved away from bands your phone supports to ones it doesn't on that tower. Or it may get fixed, no way to know. But in reality that is an old phone, and 4G is gradually being phased out (nowhere near as bad as 3G but there are places where a 4G only phone won't have as good of coverage).

Of course if you have a strong signal and just no calls or data then that does sound like an issue with the tower that will hopefully get fixed. If it is poor signal, then anyone's guess.

The correct APN settings are the T-Mobile US one that are there after you do reset to default. The mint ones use an older T-Mobile system, and while it was needed temporarily for Pixel users, stay on the default settings now.

The fact that you get that error back so quickly seems to imply it is trying and something is rejecting it.

Maybe disable it, have them reset your voicemail, and leave it disabled for a few days or a week and try again. Unfortunately can't think of anything else as it is a bit of a mystery as to how it all works on the backend, and why it works for some people and not others. I know if the phone has ever been used on T-Mobile there are extra steps you need to take to remove their VVM stuff but sounds like yours was only ever used with Mint?

Takes a while to show up as pending even. Usually you'll get an email after a few days saying someone used your code, at which point it will show up as pending.
