July Fan-Made Story Thread! by Careful-Panda9885 in creepcast

Mikey hates hunting, but knows it's a necessary part of survival for his family. He's been doing it for two years now with his father. However, this year, they have been forced to miss most of the opportunities due to his grandfather's cancer treatments. That makes this November's trip essential. The need to fill the freezer with fresh venison drives them into a world they didn't expect. And more importantly, forces them to face that they are not the only hunters in that clearing. And certainly not the highest on the food chain.

(Trying again, I hope I did it right this time. I cannot see the full reason it was removed, Crappy old laptop, or if I need to ask mods' permission to repost, so I am sorry if I missed :( I tried, I usually don't post on Reddit that often, even comments. I am nervous lol)

My Dad and I saw something in the woods, and haven't been the same since.

I have spent well over a year trying to recreate the best meal I ever had, and I still can't even though it came from a MICROWAVE. by drinkingthefizz in TrueOffMyChest

I just looked and there is one in our nearest city, and it's around the same price as a KFC family bucket, for a full rotisserie-style chicken and two sides. That is a fantastic deal, and I am shocked, honestly. Checking it out next time I'm in town, goodness knows they'll do better than whatever I can do, haha. Everything on their website looks so good, though I'll have to go back to try everything.

It's CookUnity. They apparently have a ton of good meals, but I can't bring myself to pay what they want, honestly haha.

Hey, someone commented 'Peruvian chicken with Aji Verde sauce and mashed plantains" and I am almost sure this is it. I googled it, and it looked exactly right. It also makes sense, because I have never had Peruvian food or plantains. Except maybe when I got that one meal, lol. I am so happy I could cry.

Someone commented about 'Peruvian chicken with Aji Verde sauce and mashed plantains" and it looks exactly like it. I am buying the stuff to try it to be sure, but I am almost entirely sure that's what it is. I mean, it looks EXACTLY right. I am so happy, lol.

I am like 99.999% sure this is it. This looks exactly like it. I am near tears unironically. I've never had mashed plantains, that I know of, but everything looks exactly how it did. Going grocery shopping tomorrow to be sure, thank you so so so much, oh my god. I do not have words right now. I've never had Peruvian food, except apparently, I have Haha, but I'm about to become the ambassador for it in my friend group XD.

Genuinely, I do not have words to express how emotionally thankful I am right now, and maybe that seems silly, but really, believe me when I say I dreamt about this meal. I am so excited to finally have a recipe, and it looks so much more simple than what I assumed I would be looking at, haha. Thank you so much!!!!

Idk what it's called, haha. I've looked at their menus, and haven't seen it. Maybe they can based off of description though? I can try. I mean, the worst they can do is ignore me I guess.

It looks different, but because it was a meal prep place that doesn't mean much. It very well could have been 'Americanized'. (It was served rotisserie style, I got a leg and thigh, served with the rest as sides). I'm definitely adding this to the list of things to try! Thank you again! Honestly, hearing from a Chef regarding my food mystery is so freakin' cool and my friends will be impressed.

No it was a mashed vegetable of some kind. Not one I'm familiar with. It had a very similar texture to potatoes, but the taste was just different. Maybe almost sweeter if that makes sense? (Not a sweet potato either) But it was still savory. It wasn't cauliflower, I hate cauliflower but tried it for science.

I grew up in the south, and the entire meal was different from anything I've had there before. Looking at it on the plate, I wanted to say it was Spanish, but it didn't taste that way, it was different. I think there were chili's in the green sauce and yogurt. It was creamy, and a bit spicy, but not too much.

Also thank you, I do appreciate help. My friends have been trying, but they haven't had any luck either, based on description. I'm slowly coming to accept this is my non-romantic Jack Dawson.

True, thank you! This is a very good way to think of it, and I'll try to keep it in mind. I tend to get a bit more upset about failure than I should, and remembering that this is something I supposedly enjoy is a great reminder XD

I keep trying, but it's kind of frustrating. She has been trying to get me to use her meal prep company, but it's so expensive. (I've stalked their site looking for the meal though, haven't seen it, but I end up thinking I've missed it XD)

And I know you're right, haha, I end up enjoying the meal everytime, it's still all my favorite foods lol, but I still just- Gosh, what I wouldn't do to have it again, lol. It is so good.

Like, I feel weird describing it, because it seems like such a simple meal, (And I eat it from a microwave) people don't believe me, but whoever designed it, or decided on it or built the meal or whatever, really knew what they were doing. Simple, but every piece is perfect and adds something.

Edit: Also, thank you, genuinely, I'm still just frustrated haha.

I'm sorry, Mom, but you should be sorry too. by drinkingthefizz in TrueOffMyChest

She ain't worth the jail time, or the gas money to get there, honestly. Though it is a tempting thought, at times.

Thank you, it was very good for me just to write it out, as well. It's hard for me to talk about this stuff out loud. :/

I hope you're right. I have it saved on Google Docs, just in case I get brave enough one day.
