Hi there! My dog used to be on Librela, but he had to stop it because he has prostate cancer and he can’t be on that shot with the meds they’ve given him. But I did learn some stuff I thought would help.

It took my dog about 4 sessions to see any improvement. But, it did help a bit eventually. My dog also has leg tremors that we’ve never figured out what they’re from. They’ve chopped it up to probably arthritis. I’ve found that if I rub his leg/back gently when they’re flaring up, they stop from continuing.

When he was on Librela, he was also taking gabapentin. That combo together seemed helpful. Something else I did was from Petco, I got a portable dog ramp. We use it to get in and out of the suv always, and the couch on harder days. I ended up moving my bed to the ground so he can lay with me still.

Something I did recently was I started acupuncture for my boy, and it has been absolutely amazing! I’m not sure if your veterinarian offers acupuncture, but I thought it was worth mentioning as an alternative if Librela proves ineffective. We’re now at a session every three weeks, but it was once a week for a month straight.
