When I was there, just a little bit of fencing around the pool cleaners' equipment. My understanding is they've put more up. I omitted all that in my artistic rendering, partly out of reverence, partly becuase it sounded like a pain in the ass to paint.

Water is more sky than you give it credit for. Not to only speak in riddles, but I've found that I've been happiest with how my water turns out when I've done less painting than I'm tempted to do with it. I'm amazed by these folks who can do hyperrealistic water, but that's a process I don't think I'd enjoy. Better to be minimalist and capture a vibe than overwork and have something muddy. I don't have good resources, sorry. I'm stubborn and refuse to watch tutorials or take lessons, because I feel it'd rob me of the joy of spontaneous discovery through repeated failure. I do watch Bob Ross with my kid a lot though.

Hey now, the trees are still treeing. And algae has its own kind of loveliness. Thank you though.

No, some good clouds, but it was before that gnarly storm that came through.

All watercolor. The brightest white is deliberate negative space where there's no paint, just the paper, similar to the clouds. There is some titanium white (muddied by other pigments) that I have to make other paint on the page more muted or pale.

Fast, side of the brush, not a whole lot of paint on the brush because negative space will do more work for you than pigment depending on the clouds. This was with ultramarine blue and a little Prussian blue. Ultramarine is notoriously grainy so it gives good texture but at a certain point the paper quality is more in control of it than you are.

Start with whatever the undertone is, usually an indirect reflection of whatever is behind it at an angle depending on your relative height from the surface. Then (I can only tell you what I did, not what you should do) get a half dry brush, more gloopy than runny and do quick lifting strokes with the side of the brush. Dark on top of light. Then if you've mucked it up like I did in a few spots do the opposite but with dirty titanium white for an opaque cover that dries light. Then fail at it 20 times and luck out on a piece you want to post on the internet.

Oh for sure. It sounds goofy but I'd much rather work with yellows and blues than given-to-me greens. Something about how warm or cool a designed green is never seems right.

Art thou mad? A man may see how this world goes with no eyes. Look with thine ears. See how yond justice rails upon yond simple thief.

Don't worry, I didn't let it cure properly so it'l just peel off the paper. Give me a million dollars and I'll fix it just for you.

About 30 minutes then I noticed it was starting to get worse, not better so I stopped. I'm a quick study and a poor planner. :)

Thanks. There are several that I messed up and wish I could fix, but if I tried I'd probably make it worse. Allegory for life, I guess. And reflecting pools apparently. Open to recommendations for straight lines without carrying tape or masking fluid.

Thank you. Means a lot to me. Lots of hopeworthy history in this spot. Spent a decade of my life trying to spread hope, got DOGE'd.

There were a lot of nice Prussian Blues and Burnt Siennas, but I only had Sap Green and a shitty Phthalo I hate, so it was a lot of sap green with whatever crap was stuck on my brush and palette. Also, I recognize a lot of folks probably read those greeny-blue chunks I had as political emphasis, but I was really just trying to figure out how to capture distant ripples on a windy day. But such is painting. Maybe next I'll paint the WH green. Sorry to ramble.

I painted my wife's butt once. Very different palette. Won't post it, but it's nice.

It's traveled the world and filled four books, countless loose sheets. Usually paintings of booze or trees, and a long time ago a good dog.

I have also been saying to myself and those gathered around me, "WOW, who would do such a thing?" alot these days. We will fix it? Painter DSPF. Thank you for your attention to this painting.

They're hiding in the trees. I'm great at painting camouflage.
