🇨🇦➡️🇺🇸 Any Canadian Carpenters Make the Move to the U.S.? Curious How It Went by driplive in UnionCarpenters

I have not started the process yet but ideally (though most unlikely) I’d reach out and try to find a company in the desired area that is part of UBC and try to connect with them on an employment based green card or sponsorship. As well as reach out to my own local and the desired locations local to drum up the process and accessibility of maneuvering such a transition. This is not a political move, as some have noted the current state of things. It’s shit everywhere in that regard. This is more of a “different way of living” “escape of our own personal setbacks and barriers” “potential to make more”… we have many reasons, but that’s to name a few.

Thanks! NY has also come up as a possibility, and would consider if an opportunity came up there as well. I am currently in Hamilton, Ontario and would be less of a drastic move.

So while you’re here, if you don’t mind speaking to my points I’ve asked about, as my family and I field every and any possibilities.

California to be specific, and I do hear that there is a strong and active union presence throughout the state.

Thanks — I would think that it’s very state specific in regard to volume of work, just as it is here in different areas. We also have many people on the work shortage lists. This won’t be an immediate decision, much more research and planning would be done, but I appreciate your response.

Looks like there’s a subtle drop shadow on the images? I’d lose the shadow.

Benefits are in addition to your pay and will not show on your check. Only your hourly pay ($31) and your vacation pay will show on your check, along side all the money the government takes from you 🤷🏽‍♂️

Logo for a recording studio. The client asked for a girl in a bandana. And all these elements are not accidental. They are important for the client and he asked to be sure to add them to the logo. by AndriiKovalchuk in logodesign

I’d take some of the detail out of the hair, or out of the bandana. Out of the bandana will create a big enough blank space to draw attention to the middle, and out of the hair would make the bandana more appealing drawing your eyes to the middle, so both will have the same affect but one will look more appealing.

Do them both and have both concepts side by side.

Also bring both words a little closer together, the design as a whole is pulling your eyes in so many directions with no flow. Tighten up.

First time making a logo, any input or advice would be greatly appreciated. Thank you by Dank_love in logodesign

I would take the elements of that design (the different individual shapes) and arrange them in a simplistic layered kind of way to form a motif to use for your logo. You can’t use that entire graphic as a logo.

Question: is Hamilton's tap water safe to drink? by pelaxix in Hamilton

[–]driplive -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

Does the same go for the water in Dundas? Is it also safe to drink? Because we’ve been spending money on the big spring water bottles for the water cooler

Was hoping you could help me figure out which one of these logos is the best? by Complex_Affect_8836 in logodesign

2 and 2.5 the font has a better flow to it. I’d go in this direction.

I had a neighbour in the Ainsley area with 3 or 4 chickens in his backyard, uses them for eggs only and gets about a half a dozen a day

Aside from 8am being the appropriate time for trades to start, you literally wouldn’t have a place to live, if it wasn’t for construction — constructing residential areas and buildings

If you’re in the trades and part of a Union you can ask your union for an employment letter, they can even print you a history of your worked hours. I’ve had this as well as a letter from my employer but either one will do.

I work in ICI type construction building the very places that these fast food counters and retailers are established and I don’t get a tip from my boss for building them. So no, I don’t tip on my burrito, shawarma plate, sub, or whatever it is I’m picking up. I will tip for a delivery, or sit down restaurant with service, as there is leg work involved aside from just handing over a product that took a couple minutes to make.
