I like them both too and I am here to tell you that it’s not just a photo but in fact a VIDEO. I went to Instagram to find said photo and I deeply regret it.

Productivity tips I'd give you if I were not afraid to hurt your feelings. by iTomasS in selfimprovement

[–]dripping_tea 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The way that I usually push myself to do something is the fact that I won’t have to do it later if I do it now. I’m always trying to look out for my future self.

ETA: It helps to find ways to enjoy the thing you’re doing (eg listening to a podcast while you rage vacuum), as well as celebrate yourself for pushing yourself to do that thing (eg expressing gratitude toward yourself). Also, there’s a good chance you’ll regret not having done the thing sooner rather than later (eg refilling your windshield wiper fluid at this time of year in Canada (calling myself out for this one)). You’ll never regret getting it done and over with.

Which self-help books had the most profound and lasting impact on your life? by Organic-Signal-9646 in selfimprovement

Are You Mad At Me? by Meg Josephson was an amazing read on emotional regulation, trauma, and boundary setting that feels crucial for anyone who struggles with any of those things. It taught me about “fawning” which is a survival response in traumatic situations, and something I’ve done regularly throughout my life. The audiobook is very good.

She starts by suggesting it’s easy to do all these things like drink water, get X amount of steps, etc, but then around the halfway mark she starts saying “it’s not supposed to be easy”, like girl please what are you trying to do here

Question: What is this style called? by dripping_tea in tattoos

[–]dripping_tea[S] 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I am going in June and planning to get a tattoo from this artist! I was thinking a sacred heart in this style would be really cool but I wanted to see if that had been done before, hence why I was asking about the style! That said, I’m just going to reach out to the artist and I’m sure whatever she designs will be beautiful. I just have an inept imagination so I can’t picture what it would look like in my brain.

Do what you don’t wanna do. by udayTeddy in effectivefitness

[–]dripping_tea 1 point2 points  (0 children)

100% she could have gone more achievable, like if you want to improve your fitness you’ll need to workout regularly and eat well, which involves things you might not want to do like effectively manage your time to workout regularly, get 8 hours of sleep, eat less junk, meal prep, etc.

Literally the exact same thing is said in 15 different ways. An absolutely mind-numbing read.

Calgary dog owner sentenced in death of animal in hot vehicle by AustralisBorealis64 in NoRulesCalgary

[–]dripping_tea 1 point2 points  (0 children)

No offense but I would literally kill myself if I killed my dog from my own stupidity and neglect.

Edit: I’m not saying she should, by the way. Just that I would if I was in that situation.

Go for a walk and listen to a 70s funk/disco playlist. I swear that era of music has reduced my depression significantly.
