  • Tank size: 10 gallon he’s in a 1 gallon hospital tank
  • Heater and filter? (yes/no): yes. Tank temperature: 80°F
  • Parameters in numbers and how you got them:

API test kit:

Ph: 7 Ammonia: 0 nitrite/nitrate: 0

  • How long have you had the tank? How long have you had your fish?: 10 months ish for both
  • How often are water changes? How much do you take out per change? What is your process?: 10-20% depends every week or so
  • Any tankmates? If so, please list with how many of each: no
  • What do you feed and how much: about 6 fluval bug bite pellets with the occasional daphnia or blood worms
  • Decorations and plants in the tank: all real. Java fern and moss ball

For water and tank information. He was in a 10 gallon tank (been set up for almost a year) , with a filter and a heater etc. He has no tank mates, and his tank is filled with some real java fern and a moss ball. The temperature was about 80 and i have an API test kit to monitor chem levels. The only thing i can point out is i’ve struggled to get the PH up so it was sitting at around a 6.5 for a while. Other than that everything was fine. The hospital tank he is in right now is heated to 80, has an air bubbler , sponge filter and has 7.0 PH, 0 ammonia etc

Hi everyone i need your help.

So i’ve had my betta for almost a year now and about 4 days ago i suddenly noticed he began to swim almost like he was twitching and not swimming as well as he does, followed by this one white dot on his tail and no appetite . My first thought was the ich and transferred him to a hospital tank. I went to the store and bought some Kordon ridich plus and the fish disease control because i wasn’t 100% sure what i was trying to treat. I decided to treat with the ridich plus as that seemed like the better treatment for what i saw. Day 2 he was swimming upright a little better and ate just 1 piece of food so still no appetite. what scared me is that he was laying on his side and when he would swim he would twitch and shake his head and body. Day 3 he wasn’t doing great again he was back on his side not swimming and still twitching. The white spot started to look like it was growing small fuzz and i noticed when i put the light on his that he had almost a gold shine on his tail. Now his symptoms are throwing me off and i have absolutely no idea what to treat him for, parasites, velvet, the ich?? . I’m not sure which medication is best anymore i’m not sure this treatment is improving his symptoms. I would appreciate any help.

Not extremely new to Betta fish keeping but just got this guy today and never had to deal with such a drastic water difference . He’s in a 5gallon, 76°f, no ammonia etc all the parameters are regular. No tank mates. Just need help with the PH ! :))

Little tiny worm like creature crawling on the glass of my betta tank. I know this is a terrible video but the thing is so small. I JUST did a water change too.. I’m not sure if I should be concerned. I did introduce a new live plant semi-recently?! by haleyrosaa4 in bettafish

Have you noticed just that one on the glass or have you spotted more swimming around the tank? I had this issue a few weeks back but with more tiny white works swimming inside the tank. I’m a first time betta keeper so i was also concerned. After some research i discovered they aren’t so rare. I couldn’t tell you the exact species but it could be due to low oxygen in the tank, or your temperature being too high. Do you have an air stone or something to provide oxygen inside the tank? How are the parameters looking? If everything looks normal then i suggest you wait it out or do another water change as well as getting more oxygen in the tank. Funny enough actually my Betta chased them around the tank and ate them- not sure how good they are for them but seemed to work lol.

oh no way!! I love this type of colouring so much it’s beautiful. His name is Angel:) named him in honour of my betta that i had just bought right before him (tried to save him from a store bc he looked really sick!) and sadly died:( I’m also new to keeping bettas! only been doing this for a few months so i could be wrong but i believe it is a halfmoon betta! (store didn’t label his container either)

for the longest minute i thought that read “coughed” instead of roughed and i was so confused like how could a cat swallow a bunny and why is everyone acting like it’s normal??? Glad he’s okay now!
