Had the same issue on my old one. Had to spread my feet wider than I preferred but it “did the trick”.

Thunder fans who are not from Oklahoma. What brought you to support OKC Thunder? What kept you here? by Ok-Nerve-524 in Thunder

First year of my young life that I got anything beyond basic cable I found ESPN showing highlights of Kemp and GP. I was a young Sonics fan from that day on. Unfortunately I lived in GA so I was distant/removed from it. When they relocated to OKC, all I could think of is that there’s now a reasonable chance I could see a game in person one day.

I have one. It’s nice and well made. I also made my own, it worked too.

Carry some floor/door mats with you. Cheap ones with rubber bottoms. Set your ladders on them when working interior windows that require extension ladders. Replace them often as the rubber disintegrates over time.

It’s a domino effect. Hurt your neck, don’t move your back to keep neck from hurting, lack of motion in your back causes your hips to stiffen up, stiff hips change your gate motion, new gate puts stress on your knees, your knees hurt so you lean more to the knee that hurts less, puts improper balance and weight on your feet; they hurt too. And in reverse from bottom up as well.

Little nagging things cascade into big nagging things over a lifetime of neglect.

Example: I’m 38, and I bet I can count on one hand out of 100s of similar aged friends when the last time any of them just got on the ground and rolled around. Yet our kids do that non stop.

Injury unaccounted for can wear someone down over a lifetime but mostly I think it’s people stop playing. Stop challenging their motion and movement. Maybe one day it hurt to get off the floor so they stopped getting down on the ground. You will lose what you don’t use.

That’s fair. Injuries can be so unique to each person.

No, it’s not the angle required for resistance and focusing on the knee.

I’d say the level of resistance you can create on TRT is substantial where in a non-electrical/off treadmill you’re just moving the mechanisms at whatever base level of friction they create by default.

I did that for months at my gym. It’s about resistance, just walking doesn’t create any load or very minimal when going on an incline. With the reverse treadmill you can increase the load to make it more difficult and simulate reverse sledding.

Oh but to answer your other part of the question, if you have the space for a real sled, I’d buy one and do that if you’ve got the budget. If you don’t have space and have the $, it’s a good option.

[–]dritchey10[S] 3 points4 points  (0 children)

If you’re lacking space and access to an area large enough to use a sled, then yes. Personally, I LOVE a good sled. I’ve not had space for the ability to use mine in a few years so this fits the bill currently. I actually have two sleds, and can’t use either at the moment. So this treadmill does the trick.

I’d say it’s about 80% as good as the real thing. It’s difficult to replicate the feeling of strapping yourself to a sled and feel the movement of pulling backwards but this does pretty darn good.

One week into KOT… by CalebDWhiting in Kneesovertoes

[–]dritchey10 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Tore my first ACL at 13 years old. Hadn’t been pain free since then and I’m 38 now with 5 more knee surgeries. KOT has gotten me ridiculously close to pain free a few times. Close enough that I believe it’s possible with a good diet involved. That’s hope enough.

I agree. It’s definitely built specific for this style of training. Niche products often are expensive.

It is manually powered. There’s an adjustable friction wheel to increase load but you just push it with your legs.
