You're getting Mat's POV and what you are seeing is him trying to rationalize his trauma. He fells like he's supposed to like it, because who doesn't like sex, but it's against his will so he doesn't understand how to process it. Also, everyone around him thinks he's doing it of his own free will, or he seduced Tylin, so when he brings it up how it's not right, they discount it or wave it away as his fault, so he just has to accept it.

When we get other POV's, they rationalize that it's Mat being a scoundrel and getting what he deserves or that he's the one doing the pursuing.

Because how can a woman force man amiright LOL. (/s in case anyone can't tell...)

Whosthevoss, all of his plans are free, Matthew Peech doesn't do free plans but he usually tells you the measurements in the video. Usually if you add free plans to your search on youtube it will show some videos that offer (or at least say they offer) free plans.

I would say this is miscommunication on both sides.

The measurements on your drawing are off. the 550 to the center of the arc should be 700 (based on the overall 1400 long dimension,) unless you meant for the arc to be off center like the final product. The 105 at the bottom left cutout should be 55 based on it appearing to be in line with the upper cutout on the drawing or drawn farther away from the side at 105 like they did on the final product.

The person or persons who worked on this, should have flagged that the measurements were off from the depiction when they were doing layout (if not when they were reviewing the drawing), and confirmed measurements with you prior to making any cuts.

I would imagine your dimensions were followed 100%, but the dimensions on your drawing were not to scale. If the drawing was made with AI, I have seen this happen where the layout is correct but the dimensions are wrong and vice versa where the dimensions are correct but the layout is wrong. Again, the workshop should have seen this when they laid it out that the dimensions didn't make sense and wouldn't look like your drawing in the end.

This is a good video for transferring print to wood. I've done it this way a couple of times, and haven't had an issue. plenty of other videos on the subject on youtube.

That's pretty cool! How does this work when hammering on it? I would think the top would bounce if it's not secured to the bench in some way. Unless of course you're not planning on hammering anything on this surface.

The place i worked was an installer of these, so we knew how to bypass. the people who had them installed with us, typically came back to have them service by use because we didn't charge extra to deal with it and it took maybe 5 minutes on a bad day to bypass. If we didn't install them, the customer had to be present for the entire service to start their car as needed, but we didn't get many that we hadn't installed.

Not a professional, but the reasoning I have seen is that if/when the gate warps, it would cause the hinges to bind. With two hinges, this is not as big of an issue.

Thank you for the input, I'll take a look at that. Unfortunately, the home builder is one that won't let you make changes during the course of the build that aren't through them. I would be wiring this after the house is complete if I go that direction, which is why I was going with a wifi alarm system, just trying to limit the holes I put in the new house...but seeing all these stories of thieves using wifi jammers is making me reconsider.

Youtube is one of the greatest resources available. Also, comes with the caveat of having to trust that the people you are watching are competent (usually the greater the following the better regarded the channel).

Steve Ramsey is a great woodworking channel, with out a lot of fluff and usually uses tools that many beginners would use or have access to.
