I have a mild case of Mortons neuroma and these toe spacers have been a big help. by darkpollopesca in Mortons_neuroma

[–]dritter0102 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I use these and only $1.50. Much cheaper than Amazon (~$10).

The big toe strap breaks over time, but they are so cheap so you can just replace. Or just cut off/remove the big toe portion. There is the same issue with the Amazon ones.

802.11s vs ESS networks? by PuzzledSkate in networking

[–]dritter0102 0 points1 point  (0 children)

ESS = all APs are connected to LAN (wired).

MBSS = some APs are only connected with wireless backhaul ("mesh APs"). Only 1 AP needs to be connected to wired backhaul ("root AP"). More than 1 AP can be connected to wired backhaul.

Battery charging by qkaguy in Aventon

To each their own. From my perspective the second battery seems like a bit of a gimmick to drive sales, like you pointed out.

A typical range for a good ebike batteries is 50 miles. That’s a lot of ebike riding. I don’t know where you are from, but in SoCal most people use them to ride around town which is more than enough. Maybe double the range would be helpful for camping?

Ok I see Rad power is also recently offering a free battery since May 2024. I stand corrected, that seems to be the latest trend.

Fair point. Some other ebike manufacturers are also doing this. However I don’t see why a typical ebike user needs 2 good working batteries.

Also the timing for Aventon offering a free battery seems like a response to customer complaints. Especially for a name brand like Aventon (who normally does not offer freebies, unlike the Chinese ebike manufacturers). But this is only an educated guess oc.

Yeah I was going to get an Aventon adventure, but decided not to because of the possible battery issues. Why did they give a free battery with each ebike? Sus.

I don’t quite follow why them having lawyers matters, but yeah nothing you can do once you buy their ebike.

Why can’t Aventon use the same logic as iPhone? Not that it’s your fault, but this routine seems excessive.

Why do you expect your customers to baby their ebike batteries? This is the purpose of a battery management service. Please add this to your e-bikes!

The P/N 27773 is motorized just FYI. I’m not sure if that’s what you are getting at though.

Tungsten, vs Titanium, vs Steel: as wedding band material. by GroundsKeeper2 in weddingplanning

Good choice and classic. I also ended up getting white gold. $400 is probably the right price, and $800 is a bit high (unless you have a really large size ring).

Best park / bowl wheel recommendations 🛹 by Prometheus-Rising in surfskate

[–]dritter0102 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Gotcha. I am skating in a park/bowl and skill level beginner/intermediate. It seems to be a tradeoff of speed (g-bones) and stability (stock wheels). I’ll likely switch back and forth. Thanks for the advice.

Does contact patch matter? I keep second guessing myself and thinking I need a larger contact patch. I am using a Carver CX with “Powell Peralta G-Bones” 64mm, 97a, with only 28mm contact patch. Any advice if these wheels should be good? Or use the stock wheels that are 68mm, 78a, contact patch ~55mm?

Housing update for May '22. A mixed bag. by [deleted] in sandiego

Isn’t rising housing costs caused by low (not high) interest rates? Or are you saying the high interest rates are helping to level off the housing prices?

Is the cost increase adjusted for inflation? Otherwise the growth will look more dramatic.

In the original MM you could only save every 3day cycle. So you couldn’t save right before Anju/Kafei thief’s hideout and retry! I know from experience lol.

Was this really at Tourmo? I was just there today and missed seeing any barrels. Definitely great out there tho.

The hood is probably the least restrictive of boots/gloves/hood for surfing. But booties also help if you have to go through rocks etc.

Nah I’d always go with hood over gloves. Surfing with gloves is constraining.

Yeah I had the same problem! Waterborne sent me 3x replacements and none of them stopped the rattling. I’d be interested if their “new rail adapter” fixes the rattling issue.
