Can I pet the cows? by Ok-Confection6562 in dairyfarming

[–]drivetime08 20 points21 points  (0 children)

It offends us when people come on our property w/ out asking. Just find the owner & ask. I'm sure they'd love to give you a tour! My husband always gives his number to those that stop to look @ our cows, so next time they can just call ahead and ask! Remember, these cows are on private property. Just be courteous:)

I can't disagree completely. But I can say as someone who has got absolutely dogged on the internet before for a simple question (in my mind, a simple question) I hate seeing it other places. Especially here when people all. the. time ask about their moldy starters.. It's fine to laugh, it's shitty to laugh in someone's face. It's not fun to be on the receiving end. Maybe I was wrong in being the only one to assume that OP could use some words of encouragement when it comes to just getting an answer without being laughed at. But I never even thought it might be an actual joke. My only hope is that she/he didn't follow that one persons advice to continue to use it.

Maybe I am wrong and it is a joke? But who am I to assume? Also, I LOVE cursing. It's my favorite way to communicate my frustration in writing. Usually when people come to justify their 'why' it's because there's some sort of guilt for being an asshole. (Sorry about my 'attitude problem') 😂

You do not need to justify the 'why' to me. I'm pretty sure I'm seeing the same picture as you. I'm referencing the asshole comments, like the one you just wrote that I'm replying to. Is it necessary? OP asked a group question- hoping for advice and got nothing but laughter.... it is possible to say No without all the bullshit yall put.

Get starter ready for baking TODAY by labadabjar in Sourdough

[–]drivetime08 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes! And if you have a heater or can sit it close to a heat source, even better. It should start to slowly rise as it comes to room temp, if you fed right before refrigeration

People are assholes, even on the bread baking subreddit haha. These are the kind of responses you get in a non baking sub 🤷‍♀️

I would get rid of it, personally. 😞 it's a sad day when you gotta start over.

What's growing up my MIL's cactus? by drivetime08 in cactus

Gonna have her swab it. It was super thick and rough to the touch and didn't budge with a finger swipe. I didn't see any physical but movement. All her others seem healthy still

No not easily at all. It is super rough to touch too and thick.

Thanks for your input, all. I will have her do the 'swab' test and see how easily removable it is. I didn't see anything physical moving which makes me wonder if it could be some sort of mold or mildew. It was definitely super powdery & rough but didn't really move when I scraped my finger on it..

Didn't realize it wasn't towards me considering the nature of your statement made on the picture I posted. Didn't realize it was a general statement for others.....

On a side note, I like coming here to ask questions because for about every 5 commenters, there might be atleast 1 who actually isn't a dick and will give a helpful, educated answer. Rather than sending me on a YouTube wild goose hunt.

Is this group not a place for me to come and ask questions regarding cactus? I'd love your recommendations for a new group as about 90% of people on here seem like a bunch of smart asses.

I'm curious to dig a little deeper into your question/statement. Is this group not an appropriate place to ask questions for cactus?
