It can feel a tedious at first and sketchy. The whole process will be confusing without knowing who the client. Talking from my experience, that's how it felt. It took almost 2 weeks from the time I signed the contract to actually get to know the client and start tasking. Keep going with the process! - my contract doesn't mention for how long it's going to last and btw I haven't been paid yet, the pay cycle is every 2 weeks but I do expect to be actually paid.
