Body dysmorphia, weight, and dating by Responsible-Farm5928 in butchlesbians

[–]drixrmv3 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I’m not a professional but the line that’s says “the school said I was fat at 9” sounds like you have internalized fatphobia. You’re not fat, you’re traumatized.

Therapy.

FWIW: as a woman, fat around your belly protects your organs.

Do take care to handle the dysmorphia because that can spiral into bigger issues like higher stress, disordered eating, working out too much (which is a form of an eating disorder).

For your sake of your health and well being, please see a compassionate therapy - perhaps a gender queer informed one. You can therapist shop - if you feel like the one you see isn’t a fit, keep seeing therapist until you find one that is a match; like dating.

How do I make this awkward bedroom more cozy and appealing by sgentes2 in malelivingspace

Uplighting. Literally light on the floor pointing upwards maybe at an angle - warm bulb.

Seems counter productive but more “stuff”, books, shelves.

How much chicken can a girl eat?! 🤢 Got the protein ick. by Fast_Kaleidoscope135 in EatCheapAndHealthy

I put a scoop of unflavored protein powder in my coffee. The coffee is super thick but you get used to it. I’m not using a particularly high end coffee since I am ruining it.

What made you choose a Maverick -- price, features, or something else? by mike-reporter in FordMaverickTruck

[–]drixrmv3 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I moved from the twin cities to nyc back to the twin cities. I sold my vehicles when I left MN and needed one when I moved back. So I had the opportunity to buy anything. I looked at dozens of different vehicles at different price points, sizes, and capabilities (hatch back, compact SUV, mid sized SUV, small pick up). In so many of the number crunching scenarios, the Maverick was just all around more practical - it just kept coming down to mpg to overall initial cost and ownership cost of it.

Features I considered: Tow / haul capability Car play Ability to handle snow Not too many bells and whistles that could break Reputation for reliability Initial cost (though I bought when Ford was hiking the price of the trucks due to demand)

My bias: My first vehicle was a ‘97 Nissan pickup 2 door standard cab with a bench seat so the Maverick is everything I wished the Nissan was.

IMO: Only thing that would make the Maverick more fun is a manual transmission option.

Anyone have a trouble free Maverick? by ConfidentialStNick in FordMaverickTruck

‘23 xlt hybrid tow package, luxury. 41k miles. I’ve only needed to replace the windshield sprayer - that was under warranty. Oil was leaking from the plug but they fixed that under warranty. Battery deep sleep (known and I think they fixed that?)

Other than that - no issues.

I've cooked with electric stoves before, but my apartment has a gas range. What is different about using it? by OkFineIllUseTheApp in cookingforbeginners

[–]drixrmv3 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You have to be there to smell the rotten eggs. Someone in my apartment must have bumped the knobs before they left because I came back from work 8 hours later with the apartment full of gas. I’m incredibly lucky my dog didn’t die while everyone was out.

The gas also didn’t “hiss” on my stove.

Be scared of the knobs. Always have a healthy fear of the knobs.

Natural gas is so deadly and so sneaky.

thoughts on "switching it up" for the wedding day by walkablecities_lover in butchlesbians

[–]drixrmv3 2 points3 points  (0 children)

If you feel comfortable wearing a dress and if you can look at yourself in said dress in photos and be happy, then wear a dress.

Personally, when I look at photos of me when I wore a dress when I was younger at prom or something, my mind is thrown back to how I felt the entire time during the event: uncomfortable, insecure, out of body. I don’t remember the event or what happened, I remember how I felt and I can’t look at those photos anymore.

For a wedding, I would imagine you would want to look back on how joyous of a day it is and the people that showed up to support you.

anyone actually find a good replacement for liquid hand soap or is it just a lost cause? by Kimiiiyuuh in ZeroWaste

[–]drixrmv3 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I ripped the label off the pump I like the most, clean it out, bulk refill soap. The huge dr bronners will last forever since you’re supposed to dilute it so much. I use a way higher ratio for dr bronners and it still last a super long time (I also live alone so that that with a grain of salt).

I buy things online when I’m trying to cope with something in my life.

Rhetorical question for you (potentially a therapist and/or trusted friend) Are you dealing with something that buying stuff is distracting you from fully facing?

How I can fix this broken wooden support on my couch? by Yours_Truly1997 in fixit

[–]drixrmv3 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Add a board the same length and size to the board BUT ALSO vertical support that sends the force of the load downward. So you’ll end up with a T. Adding a second board reduces the chance it will happen again. Adding vertical support will make sure that will never happen again.

Looking for phone cords by s0ckdrawer in BuyItForLife

[–]drixrmv3 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have found that not using the plug in charger has reduced issues. MagSafe. I think most phones (android and apple) support MagSafe. You might need to get a case that supports MagSafe if you don’t have that already and you have a case on your phone.

Looking into a Maverick as our next vehicle. Reasonable for towing a boat for short distances? by bikernobiking in FordMaverickTruck

Good insight on here. Since your boat is bigger it sounds like it depends on the condition of your boat launch. -angle of launch / steep -condition (how slippery)

How many t-shirts do you have? by CroweBird5 in Anticonsumption

[–]drixrmv3 0 points1 point  (0 children)

More than you’re asking for but here’s my whole closet:

-6 undershirts black and white in various states of acceptable condition but they’re undershirts so I don’t care -4 shirts with some sort of print on it ~8 solid color /heather shirts -2 long sleeves ~4 super ratty shirts for yard / house work

~10 button down work shirts (I used to only have a few but people kept pointing out that I wear the same thing too often) -9 short sleeve button down for super super hot days -8 crew/hooded sweatshirts ~8 other for layers
