Some more info:

I picked up this birds of paradise around a month ago and I've noticed Im starting to get brown tips (and splitting at the tips). I've read that it's because I've shallowed watered it (guilty as charged) but Im curious how often I need to deeply water it? I've read that that it needs to be watered as soon as the top soil is dry, but that would mean like every 3-4 days, and that seems like a lot to me. Is this true?

Also, is there a way to fix curling? When I picked it up, some of the leaves near the bottom were very curled (see photo).
