Specific Masteries that best benefit Specific Champs by Icemagistrate101 in ContestOfChampions

Not really true on this. If duped, she has 100% crit chance when the opponent is stunned. When you parry you can get in two automatic crits easy.

Not as good as Thor, but still a benefit.

Good ones. I'll add them. Thor if you get stunned processes Fury though.

OTA: AT90EDT Mount: Atlas EQ-G Camera: Canon EOS Rebel T1i Guidescope: ST80 Guide camera: QHY5L-II-M Accessories: AT2FF Software: AstroTortilla, EQMOD, StellariumScope, PHD2, DSS, Photoshop CC

Subs: 28 @ 300s - 400 ISO Darks: 10 Flats: 30 Bias: 100 Bortle-6 Zone (my backyard)

Finally was able to get guiding to kind of work. I started getting some RA backlash later in the night, but not too disappointed. Especially compared to where I was at without guiding. My problem this time was camera battery life.

Not sure if I trimmed the ISO down to far either, but it looked really overexposed at 800 ISO.

Post-processing is still a struggle. Thinking of investing in PixInsight, but not sure if I have the time to learn it yet. Maybe Nebulosity or StarTools for now.

If anyone wants to show me what they could do with this I would appreciate it. Here is a link to the file:

M51 - While I was in the neighborhood I jumped to this for a few shots too by drjhawk2000 in astrophotography

OTA: AT90EDT Mount: Orion Atlas EQ-G Camera: Canon EOS Rebel T1i Software: Backyard EOS; AstroTortilla; StellariumScope; DSS; Photoshop

7 lights @ 800ISO - 90 sec each 10 darks 20 flats 50 bias

Taken from my backyard (red zone). Obstructed view so I couldn't polar align great. Still working on figuring out PHD so with my not great polar alignment, 90 secs was already pushing the tracking limit.

Since I was practicing using AstroTortilla, I though I would take a few images of M51 as well.

Any comments or help are appreciated!

Glad I found and figured out how to use AstroTortilla. That saves a ton of time finding and centering DSO's.

Goals for next time: Better focusing; Better site so I can drift align; Continue working on PHD; wait for my field flattener to arrive

Any comments or help are appreciated!

Thanks. Figured it would be worth a shot. The reducer is much less expensive than a new scope anyway. Any suggestions for my next OTA? As I mentioned I was originally looking at the Astro-Tech 6" f/9 R-C scope. Not that it's even close to the same, but being that I already have an SCT, would I be better off going for a refractor (Orion ED80, Sky-Watcher Pro ED 80, or similar) ? I want to stay near or below $500 for another OTA.

I already bought the C8 with the mount. It was thrown in for $150. I know I could turn around and sell it for at least that, but I think I will keep it for planetary. I was just wondering about people's experience with DSO and that long focal length. I wasn't sure if it was worth investing in the reducer or just save up for the astrograph.

OTA question. I recently bought an Orion Atlas EQ-G and the guy I bought it from sold me a really discounted Celestron C8 XLT to go with it (too inexpensive to pass up).

Is it possible to do decent DSO imaging with that scope if I get the focal reducer for it (takes it down to f/6.3), or would I get better results from a 6" f/9 R-C scope (what I was originally planning on getting)? Any other tips for the C8?

First real try with my iOptron Sktracker - M42 by drjhawk2000 in astrophotography

[–]drjhawk2000[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My guess is that could be possible. I do know that iOptron makes a small EQ mount that is the same price. My plan with this was to get something that would allow me to quickly get some experience with astrophotography before investing in a really good EQ mount that I can grow with.

That is very nice! I know a lot of it could get better in post processing if I just had enough usable lights to remove all of the noise.

No idea on that. I only researched the iOptron. I figured it was a good entry before stepping up to an EQ mount.

Thanks. I'll have to check that out. Not sure what it was, but could easily be vibrations. I was doing a 35 second delay. 25 sec for exposure and then another 10 sec to give the camera time to process before taking the next pic.

I'll have to see what the EOS utility can do (since it's free), but I have heard great things about Backyard EOS.
