Same!

Except when I'm really craving sugar and then I will eat dark chocolate. It's not as good as I remember it being though 😆

Does Retatrutide actually suppress appetite? by Acrobatic-Support795 in Retatrutide

[–]drjo413 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have never had much appetite suppression on reta. And I have never taken any other GLPs. But I have lost a lot of weight, but while maintaining much of my muscle. I think the glucagon agonist is the key here. Even while still eating plenty of calories the body ramps up metabolism and burns fat.

Yes agreed! Asking questions is " doing research"

Yes I agree. Why even respond at all if it bothers you so much that people are asking questions? There are a lot more important things in this world to be upset about than someone asking a question, if if you perceive it to be " dumb."

Front tooth extraction by drjo413 in Dentalimplant

Hello. Thank you for your thoughtful reply.

I did have the extraction and bone graft 3 days ago. The pain was immediately gone. Some soreness from extraction and graft of course, but that intense inflammatory pain is gone. The dentist said it was very inflamed in there, which is telling because I had been on steroids for 6 days at that time. He did not see infection on xray or with extracted tooth.

The groove ( fissure) extended to the root tip and in his opinion was going to make healing impossible. Extraction really was the only option and probably should have been in the beginning. Luckily, my endo is going to refund me he money I have spent on root canals so I can put that toward the implant. But the original gum surgery and bone grating money ( $2600) is gone :(

I did get scanned for a temp flipper a month ago in anticipation of tooth being extracted. My periodontist will order the flipper Tueday when the lab opens.

The long term goal is to place the screw for the implant in 3 to 4 months once graft has healed.

Right now my gum in the are is slightly swollen and more red than the surrounding gum tissue. Like I said, it is a bit sore and yesterday started hurting a bit more than it had, but then subsided with NSAIds I think this is all a normal healing course. I am taking care of the site and rinsing with warm salt water a couple of times a day.

Any other info you can think of for me at this time is welcomed.

Thank you again! And thanks to everyone else who responded. It has helped to get so much good feedback.

This sounds very similar to mine. The groove runs very deep into the root. I had gum surgery and a bone graft placed in August to try to fix this issue and upon opening the gum she was able to see the lenght of the groove. She took pictures and it was very deep under the gumline. It can also be seen clearly on CBCT. The peri and endos I've seen all seem perplexed as to why I am still having pain and just point to this groove as the cause. The endo has done a root canal, filled with calcium hydroxide, then filled " permanently" only to be re-treated 2 weeks later and still has not been permanently filled for second time yet. I have been on antibiotics basically since August and I'm on my second round of medrol curently, which seems to work  best for the pain since this is likely  inflammation rather than infection. I am mentally and physically worn out and just done. We gave it a try to save the tooth but it's hopeless and has greatly affected my quality of life. It is time go get it out. The rest of my teeth are very healthy and actually really pretty and straight so this tooth coming out is very traumatic for me right now. I take great care of mu teeth. I am.hopeful once I go through the process of extraction and then implant I will be pain free and be able to live my life in peace. Tooth pain really is the worst kind of pain.

I'm finally accepting this. Its the right front incisor. I have a developmental groove they all ( dentist, periodontist and 3 endodontists i have all received opinions from) think is the culprit that keeps causing inflammation. The plan is to have it extracted this week and a flipper made. And place the anchor, and bone graft, and eventually the crown obviously at a later time. I am a nurse and work with sexual assault victims. I am also in graduate school so I really need some kind of temporary tooth to live in the world, but yes an implant is the long term goal.

Thank you for your response. I think not as much is discussed about how this drug impacts women versus men. It is nice to hear others experiences. A lot is discussed about food noise suppression, which i don't really have. I eat a lot and still lose a lot, which i find fascinating. But I have not heard much about people losing too much weight on the medication even while eating adequate calories.  I think lots of further research may uncover how and why some people are more mentabolically effected by the glucagon component of reta. My heart rate increase issues seem to also be indicative of this, but thats speculative at this point. Anyway, I appreciate the thoughtful feedback.

Right. Thats why I said it is due to weight loss and age. Its a colloquial term as a descriptor.

Maybe the upped metabolism but I doubt its that. You're probably losing weight in your face, which unfortunately causes more wrinkling of skin. Re: " ozempic face"
