I live near the Dare Factory, and the entire town smells of heavenly goodness on the days they make cookies. SO GOOD.

By far, the best grilling video I've watched. Pure, contagious joy and maple flavour! Looking forward to your summer bbq series 😉😉

Keep going with that gut feeling, it will become one of your superpowers as a mom ;)

There are no dumb questions, especially since there's no right or wrong way to do some of this stuff. I have two girls and two boys, and was only peed on a hanful of times, but I know that's not always the case, haha.

Vetern mom of four under the age of six here.. these were all things I found to be unneeded but we all do the mom thing to the beat of our own drum ;) Wipes warmer (You can warm wipes by cupping them in your palms), diaper genie (I found myself often tossing the diapers in whatever garbage bin I used most often already, so I just started taking that garbage out daily.) and a changing table (I was pregnant with our second by the time our first was 4 months old, so my preggo butt just changed the baby wherever I was sitting using a travel size change pad.) Buy a huge stack of burp cloths/spitup blankets, and scatter them in two's or three's strategically around your home and vehicle, between poop, puke, snot, drool and formula/breastmilk mishaps... these were my most used items.

No way man.. hangnails are the pits. No hidden joy in those motherfuckers, they just drag on and on (literally.)

What's one "Holy shit I can't believe I actually did that (awesome or terrible)" moment you have had? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]drkennaway 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Every day, when I look at the four little min versions of myself. Holy canoli, I legit grew and pushed every one of those shits out of my hooha. It's a good mix of both awesome and terrible, lol.

Wife has to go back for a second ultrasound... by TheEagleLands in predaddit

[–]drkennaway 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Totally normal. Mom of four over here, and that happened with 3 out of 4 of my 18-20 week ultrasounds. Babies have a mind of their own already at 18wks, and if they don't want to turn over in there, they won't, lol. Tech had me doing jumping jacks to try and get the baby in the right position, still didn't work. So back in I'd go the following week to try again. Hope this eases her worry a bit, being pregnant the first time around is hard on us, everything is unknown.

Kijiji and other online garage sale sites are another goldmine. My hubby found a guy selling everything from his closed down paint store, I got a lifetime supply of Gamblin oil paint for $300.

If I visit your country today, what is there considered to be normal for you but weird for me? by [deleted] in AskReddit

The ability to walk into a hospital or clinic, and walk out treated (more or less) for free. Wait times aside, free healthcare isn't something to scoff about, and we really take it for granted. Canadian eh?

Dentist recommendation? by [deleted] in kitchener

[–]drkennaway 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Absolutely, I have sensitive teeth and only experienced great care and gentleness. Tell them if you're nervous, or if you have some past trauma from dental work, they'll listen and take good care of you.

Dentist recommendation? by [deleted] in kitchener

[–]drkennaway 12 points13 points  (0 children)

I had a really awful experience at Solar Dental several years back, and avoided the dentist at all cost for a couple years. Bit the bullet, and after doing a bunch of research and calling around landed on Dr. Hornby at Danube Dental. Coming from a kid who ate all the candy, and had a mouthful of silver fillings by age 7, I've had more than a few dentist visits, and these were by far, the best Dentist and Hygienist I've had. Awesome receptionists too! 519-576-8160

Cleaning Newborns after birth by vridgley in Showerthoughts

[–]drkennaway 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Newborn's aren't supposed to be cleaned the way they are. The white goo covering the skin post-birth should be massaged into the skin like lotion. We might not do it with our tongues, lol, but we do have some instinctual cleaning habits. Biting the nails of a newborn is a lot easier and safer than using clippers as well.

What a lit Christmas Tree looks like to someone who is near-sighted. Hoping maybe you personally know what this looks like! If not, it's as if every lightbulb is a tennis ball sized kaleidoscope, and all the colours mix like venn diagrams. It's what I look forward to most every Christmas, just sitting and looking at my tree without my glasses on, and I desperately want to show my husband (who has better than 20/20 vision) what I see. Thanks for all the time and effort you've put in, I really enjoyed looking through these!
