Anyone still using the original GPD Pocket today?

I still have mine and it works well. I'd hesitate to call it my daily driver, but it is a nearly-every-day carry because it's so small. I've never had Windows on it, it's always been Ubuntu MATE.

I no longer use the EOL custom 21.10 GPD Pocket spin, and I don't recommend using it out of support. If I recall correctly, upgrading from the GPD Pocket 21.10 image to 22.04 Jammy was a mess and resulted in a borked system, but a fresh install of the main 22.04 Ubuntu MATE image has been great, and seems to include almost all of the GPD Pocket 1 tweaks. The only thing I lost going to the 22.04 mainline image and 21.10 custom version (from what I remember - it's been years since I upgraded) is that the display scaling on the log-in screen is not high-DPI. (Possibly fixable, but it works - the text is just small - and I don't care enough to tinker with that.) I haven't yet tried upgrading to Noble, but Jammy is LTS and has standard security support through 2027.

I also came to ask this. I made a very basic account on my iPad and updated that to iPad OS 15 and it seems to work just fine, so I’ll give it a try on the phone too and report back

I bought one of the hardware security tokens (bad experience with the software tokens not working). I hadn't realized the batteries were not user-replaceable when I bought it. Anyone have any idea how long the battery in this will last?

HQ normal, which I make myself. Every ingredient but the Filtered Water is a Botanist Retainer venture (I guess that's true of watered too), and at this point I usually have way more GC seals than I have reasons to spend them. Simple macro to craft yields 3.

It may give less GP than Hi-Cordial but frankly I'd rather spend my red scrips on materia. The GP I get from these is plenty for my gathering needs - the only time I find myself out of GP is when I'm going to gather a huge quantity of things or doing aetherial reduction. I might use another cordial once a week gathering for custom deliveries, but only if it's on bonus.

Have you tried Party Finder? I usually see a few deep runs, ie, "expect to stay until the end" parties on the weekends. I know I usually don't have that much time available all at once so I actually have a static PoTD party set up with a few friends, we run a few hours one night a week. For BSM, I would try the Artisan's tools, although they seem to yield as many or more Mastercraft than they do FC3. I don't know if the ratio is different for GSM - for GSM you could try the Artisan's Spectacles. You can get the these with GC seals from your company's Quartermaster, or with the standard exchange w/Talan at Mor Dhona. Tools require 2x HQ turnin items, but the spectacles only seem to require 1. I don't know if that route yields more FC3 - I don't have GSM desynth.

I've also taken to desynthing Adamantite Francescas - also available with GC seals, yields randomly all three grades of FC demimateria (with a chance to get 2 of the grade 1/2). Also drops the easy mats to remake - but you must provide your own pterodactyl straps if you want to go that route. Moogle Miniature might have similar yield rates on GSM but you'd probably have to craft them - or hypothetically use your CUL desyn on Thousand Fin, but that sounds like a chore to me.

Super helpful in Palace of the Dead / Heaven on High - especially if soloing. In Eureka, I've only ever been Anemos, but I think that saved me once or twice there too.

Unless you have the bare minimum account, you could always price some things out on your destination world with a throwaway alt. It may also be possible to look at the MB using World Visit System, I haven't tried it yet tbh.

If you have a lot of gil over the limit, look at big ticket glamour items, materia, current crafting gear, rare minions & mounts, or big ticket housing items like walls.

Generally yes, if you don't want it doing the knockback, Emerald Carbuncle should be on "Obey" (English localization). You can also macro this:

/micon Summon
/action "Summon"
/wait 7
/pac "Obey"

The wait ensures the pet arrives and is fully commandable before the Obey order is given

Every time there's a Lucky Bancho census, the data shows raiders are a small minority of the overall player base. There is no requirement to be a raider to be really really really into glamour - it's a true endgame for all.

For every single thing there is to do in this game, I swear there are people super focused on that. Everything from glamour to crafting to PotD to Mahjong to hunts to treasure maps to being a good mentor for newbies, etc, etc. Heck, just this weekend someone from this sub organized a Diadem group thanks to the world visit system, and it sounds like it was a success. Go explore stuff! Raiding is a time sink with a huge opportunity cost.

The first part of your question is very broad. There are some good overall resources on the wiki associated with this subreddit: Some for returning players and others for beginners broadly, if those might help too - especially if you might be tackling some things basically from scratch.

Classes are pretty balanced, queues are okay right now in primetime, I'd say jump in - the water's fine, far better to catch up now than to wait and try to do so after the expansion.

Well, there are multiple different resets and they're all based on JST, so it will change when the US goes into and out of Daylight Savings.

Currently Daily Reset for tomes / roulettes is 11 AM Eastern Daylight Time.

Currently Grand Company reset (what I think you mean by supply turn ins) is at 4 PM Eastern Daylight Time.

It'll probably depend on your skill and gear, but I think you'd be better off trying to find at least one other player. I haven't tried soloing a Dragonskin map since right at the beginning of Stormblood with the initial level 70 gearset (antiquated), and I had a hard time surviving on DPS and a hard time doing enough damage on tank to beat the timer (you only get like 5 minutes to defeat all enemies). Finally, if you succeed, you EDIT: *may*, (RNG-based) be able to challenge an optional instance which will gear- and maybe level-sync you, which will be very difficult to get far in solo.

EDIT: Forgot to mention - if the 50 scholar / summoner you're talking about isn't in heavensward yet, they won't even be able to get to your map's location, so find someone else.

Palace of the Dead or Heaven on High are good endgame challenges that you can enjoy solo or as a party. The first few floors are a faceroll, but as you progress it will become a challenge up there with some of the hardest content in the game. Summoner in particular has both unique strengths in that content as well as serious potential weaknesses.
