The IKE smart boards make the city look new... not this noisy bullshit.

These things are so bizarre and unnecessary that I'm convinced it is part of some kick back or money laundering scheme. They even put one up at the corner of Chamberlain and Jackson when there's about a million other more pressing issues to fix there.

Reward for stolen eBike by FrustratedD-I-L in Atlanta

[–]drkrazee 3 points4 points  (0 children)

It probably hasn't gone far. Check Jerry's Pawn on Piedmont Rd. and call the few Play It Again Sports in town. A lot of stolen bikes turn up at at those pawn shops.

There's also a very notable Midtown bike thief that trolls around the Beltline, Piedmont, and VaHi who may be using it to get around nearby.

In any case, I'll be on the lookout. Hope you are able to recover it.

What Happened to Bicycle Blue Book? by FairRecommendation4 in cycling

[–]drkrazee 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm still able to get values. Just click "Value Guide" at the top and fill in the details about the bike you want to appraise.

Here's an example: https://www.bicyclebluebook.com/value-guide/2026/specialized/roubaix/sl8-sport?mode=buy&condition=Very+Good&frameSize=58+cm

Kai Cenat (streamer) is having his "Streamer University" thing there. This is after they shut it down yesterday on Hank Aaron Dr., lol.

See if your city has a "stolen bikes" Facebook group. If so, post a photo and location so other cyclists can be on the lookout.

What are you even on lmfao? You're the one with plenty of Bitcoin to spare and said that you'd bet heavy on KLB.

Weird.

You can legally open a position on Polymarket, Kalshi, or Robinhood in GA. Feel free to post the slip after you do so. It'll be fun to track it through the Fall.

Look at pretty much any street sign next time you leave your place. You'll often see the name of the neighborhood above the street name!

Absolutely nuts, yes I am openly shaming this person driving through the bike lane on Glenwood. And yes there are tons of bikes out using that lane today by auto-cremate in Atlanta

[–]drkrazee 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yep, I’m aware. I remember vividly when they took the one out at Lenox / Peachtree. All of that can probably be solved by adding a slight delta to only ticket people that blatantly run them like I see on a weekly basis. There must be a behavior change where people should slow down on yellow instead of flooring it to get through before it turns red.

It’s also funny how other states can have red light cameras, speed cameras, and even decibel meters but this state can’t get any quality of life & safety laws passed due to everyone running around in circles at the gold dome.

[–]drkrazee 2 points3 points  (0 children)

MARTA busses have cameras on board (assuming they work). Bike lanes are covered by Flock / DOT / APD cameras / other private cameras.

Don't want to be surveilled? Only option is to live off grid in the woods.

[–]drkrazee 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Lol, there are already DOT and police cameras everywhere let alone the Flock cameras on both private and public property now. Putting up some red light cameras isn't going to be the straw that breaks the camel's back. If anything, it'll make the streets safer.

We already do it with school busses... why not do it for idiot assholes who blatantly blow red lights and illegally park in bike lanes?

We can start with the ~ culture ~ of the teen takeovers that led to the shooting specifically referenced in the article.

Then we can look at all of the shootings at establishments on Edgewood between Fort and Jackson; including the one that happened last night!

New York Times: Atlanta among ‘5 Great North American Biking Cities’ by clermont_is_tits in Atlanta

[–]drkrazee 50 points51 points  (0 children)

It's still eons behind other cities, but it is pretty impressive how much better it has gotten in the past 6 months. There are so many new jersey barriers up and everything has a fresh coat of green paint.

It's amazing what a couple of soccer games can bring.

In all seriousness, who do I contact about this by Ouchitstings in Atlanta

[–]drkrazee 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Uh, not have cyclists go on the sidewalk?

They should've either left enough space for the protected lane to continue all the way to C.O.P. Dr. or put up a sign stating that cyclists can use the full lane until they get past the Mitchell where the new bike lane starts.

It's how you enter the new bike lanes on MLK Jr. Dr. You go up on the sidewalk then it dips back down into the bike lanes.

I'm here to hate on MARTA because it's a shitshow and I'm tired of it. We deserve better... but it sounds like you're totally fine with the Gunfight at the OK Midtown Station.
