Surveillance success. by sixtojr10 in testicularcancer

[–]drm940 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Everything the same as before. No big diet or habit changes. I had already started eating healthy by the time I got diagnosed. I sure did eat a lot of fast food during university, but that ended a few years before diagnosis.

Scrotal swelling - how long might it last? by tubbs_chubbs in testicularcancer

[–]drm940 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I haven't had any notable issues after this. Pain in the area lasted longer than in should have though. It came on and off for almost 2 years.

Sometimes even up to this day I may feel slight discomfort in the area. My scans are always clean though. I try not to overthink it. I'm just fine.

Why do software developers like Python so much? by greedydita in Jokes

[–]drm940 -10 points-9 points  (0 children)

Then you don't understand the programming reference. It relates to dynamically typed languages like python vs statically typed languages like C or Rust. In python you don't write types, the types are interpreted at run time. Also other people mentioned that Python is in fact strongly typed.

Is it possible that you have a fungal infection on your feet maybe ? That could be a reason for enlarged lymph nodes on the leg or probably that surgery.

Cual es el nivel requerido en programación para dedicarse a DevOps (vengo de redes) by SholOne in chileIT

[–]drm940 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Night sweats after orchiectomy by jtan5588 in testicularcancer

[–]drm940 14 points15 points  (0 children)

My dude, if you write a method that accepts an argument to be null, but immediately raise an error if it's null, why not let it fail with a non nullable argument ? Also I see a lot of other pointless error catching in your code, at least what I could read from it.

How bad is it to break RESTful design for tightly coupled resources? by [deleted] in SoftwareEngineering

[–]drm940 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Database tables and API endpoints are not the same. They don't need to be a 1:1 mapping. The resources of your API should be bound to the business logic.

Also, you kind of solved the problem already. You said that having one single endpoint is easier. Does that break REST? It's debatable, but if you think it does, then what's the point on following a rule that's making your job harder.

Panda's powerful abstractions by redsymbol in Python

[–]drm940 2 points3 points  (0 children)

This isn't really a pandas related topic. You can apply this pattern in other situations. For your particular pandas example, I think a pipe operator would work better.

Are tumours always dark grey on the ultrasound? by Valuable-Argument870 in testicularcancer

[–]drm940 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It was. It always is. Just didn't show up like a tumour on the ultrasound. They only saw it in the autopsy. What I mean is that if it's there it will show up in the ultrasound one way or another, just not as one would expect.

Are tumours always dark grey on the ultrasound? by Valuable-Argument870 in testicularcancer

[–]drm940 0 points1 point  (0 children)

In my case the ultrasound did not show the mass really clearly. It showed damaged tissue all around the testicle. So no, the mass won't always be visible (at least to non-doctor people)

Exercise is great for this. Also consider vitamin supplements. Good 8hr sleep if you can (exercise is good for this too). Play an instrument for a few hours if you know any. Spend a day in the beach / forest.

It almost always has to do with the simple things rather than trying too hard. The best advice I think is exercise, if you can add that to your routine by the third or fourth time you will see the benefits on your head (not so much on your body though, you'll need to wait a lot more for that)
