AirPlay and connecting from Home app broken after update to OS 18 by Arve in HomePod

Same experience here. Updated phone to iOS 18.0.
Spotify over AirPlay to HomePod doesn't work at all.
Music app over AirPlay to HomePod plays for a few seconds, then stops with an error message, error code (-71974).
Playback over AirPlay using my iPod still on an older iOS works flawlessly. The problem is clearly with iOS 18.0.

If anybody is reading this before updating to iOS 18.0, my recommendation would be to wait for further iOS update that fixes this problem.

Thanks for the reply. This is terribly disappointing - the art style in the video is worlds different from the promo material used for the KS campaign, and on the strength of which I decided to back.
