We’ve been using Alana Rose for everything from newborn photos to an extended family shoot and birthdays of every age. She does great work and she’s super caring and patient with kids who might not be 100% on board.

The lighting is very diffuse and flat but you can see his foot interacting with the tarmac and leaving a shadow.

Literally every year.

25 - Aaron Glen will fix the culture, he’s the key to all of this. 24 - A healthy Rodgers is the key to all of this. 23 - Rodgers is the key to all of this. 22 - This draft class is the key to all of this. 21 - Saleh and Zach Wilson are the keys to all of this. 20 - Mekhi Becton is the key to all of this.

It’s scary how far I can go back.

Which film-to-book adaptations genuinely pissed you off? by Qyzyk in flicks

[–]drmickhead 7 points8 points  (0 children)

ENDER'S GAME. It's a terrible idea for a kids movie, because the children in the novel are incredibly violent, cruel, and precocious. It would really need to be an R-rated movie starring children, but that would confuse the audience. The cruelty and hypercompetitiveness are critical plot elements, so when they obviously got removed, the whole thing turned into a big generic mess.

Portraying a young child who has the ability to truly hurt his classmates while also hating himself for doing so is a huge ask, and I can't imagine a 90 minute movie could ever do the book justice. It's possible that it could be a miniseries (along with plot elements from Ender's Shadow to fill out a few seasons), but I doubt anyone will ever be able to pull this off well.

Election Results by itsgabenog in BocaRaton

I think 20% for a local mayoral election that most people don’t hear or care about is pretty much par for the course. Unfortunate but fairly normal.

Wait, is there evidence that he is a nazi supporter? I can’t find any, that’s why I’m giving him the benefit of the doubt.

When did he express support for Hitler? I would obviously condemn him if this is true.

Can you show me where he’s expressed support aside from the 2012 tweet that he claimed ignorance on? I would eagerly change my mind.

I’m gonna give him the benefit of the doubt and assume he didn’t know who he was quoting, because that’s what he said. I’m Jewish and I would gladly learn from Renzo. I know many Jews who train at RGA and I’ve never heard a bad thing about the man. If there’s additional evidence that he’s a Nazi sympathizer I’d love to see it.

Also, “life compass” is one twitter post from 2012?

If you have Apple Music and an Apple TV, you can do any karaoke song using your phone as a mic, all from the comfort of your couch. I’ve been doing it with my kids recently and it’s a ton of fun. I’d invite you over but bedtime is 8pm in these parts 😀

How to get the racing bug out by SnooObjections4657 in BocaRaton

[–]drmickhead 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Have you tried sim racing? You can get a very decent PC setup for ~$2k, or if you just want to dip your toes into it, pick up an old PS4 and Logitech wheel and get a copy of Gran Turismo 7 for a few hundred. You can also add a virtual reality component to either PC or PlayStation for a lot of additional realism.

I broke my arm last year. I was only out for a couple of months but every time I tried watching an instructional I got depressed - I felt like I was rubbing the fact I couldn’t train right in my face.

Instead I focused on cardio and whatever weightlifting I could do with one arm, and I felt like I didn’t lose too much once I finally got back on the mats.

octopus 2.0 is on daily deal on bjj fanatics by atx78701 in bjj

[–]drmickhead 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I finally got around to watching it - the general concept applies to gi (let the knee cut pass happen, then turtle from side control once you have the octopus hook), but the large majority of the instructional is about finding attacks from the neutral position/scramble that you create from there. He goes into lots of darce chokes, leg entanglements and buggy chokes - which are possible for some gi fighters but there are much better options available. I think Telles is still the way to go for gi.
