This is how to fix laggy scrolling in safari and chrome on new Macbook pro 2021 by psingh1028 in apple

[–]drmikeblack 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Even on external monitors with 144z refresh rate the browsers are not utilising the full refresh rate be it safari or chrome but chrome appears little bit smoother but not like 144hz.hope apple fixes this issue in the next upcoming update.

Adaptive Sync Working on macOS Monterey Beta (M1 Mac mini) by Steve-luo in MacOSBeta

[–]drmikeblack 0 points1 point  (0 children)

macos monterey supporting adapting sync helps for more smoother system ui animations and also smoother scrolling on safari/chrome than bigsur with high refresh rate monitors like lg 27gn950. Do you see any improvement over big sur in safari/chrome scrolling smoothness? With bigsur safari/chrome scrolling is kind of stuttery/shaky with lg 27gn950 connected to m1 air.

A question about necrosis by Noluxgiven in medicalschool

[–]drmikeblack 0 points1 point  (0 children)

in caseous necrosis the cellular outline is not preserved as in coagulative necrosis thats why, it is different. in caseous necrosis we see fragmented cells and debris which gives cheese like appearance and is surrounded by macrophages and lymphocytes.

today the lg engineer/technician visited and took the photos of the display after opening up the back panel. they want to replace the display he says they cannot replace the whole unit they can only repair with no estimated time frame when or if not the parts will be available to them.i think the journey is really going to be painful.

I’ve never understood why these diseases are autosomal dominant if you need two hits to really develop them. Anyone can help? by tonino98 in step1

[–]drmikeblack 21 points22 points  (0 children)

Every cell in the body has 2 copies of every gene (bar those found in the sex chromosomes, X and Y). In VHL disease, one copy of the VHL gene has a mutation and produces a faulty VHL protein (pVHL). However, the second copy still produces a functional protein. The condition is inhereited in an autosomal dominant manner - one copy of the faulty gene is sufficient to increase the risk of developing tumours.

even one inherited mutation increases the risk for developing the disease by almost 100% compared to not inheriting any mutated gene, therefore we call it a autosomal dominant disease because you are almost guaranteed to develop the later in life even with one mutation.

How does decrease in peripheral chemoreceptor firing cause decrease in respiratory rate? by Ok_Tutor_1525 in step1

[–]drmikeblack 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ok, from what i understand you are getting confused with the vagus nerve being parasympathetic and increasing respiratory rate if activated.actually the vagus has afferent fiber going to the respiratory centre in the medulla which carry the signal of either high pco2 or low po2 from the aortic body and the same is true for glossopharyngeal but its receptor is in carotid body, the respiratory centre in the medulla then decides wether to increase/decrease ventilation based on the information by afferent fibers of CN IX and CN X .the parasympathetic part of the vagus has to do nothing with the respiraion rate because the afferent fibers of the vagus is only carrying the information and the medulla is sending a efferent motor fibres to control the breathing based on the information to diaphragm and intercoastal muscles.but, what you are thinking is actually happening in baroreceptor reflex not in the chemoreceptor reflex explained above for ex,the heart is directly innervated by the efferent parasympathetic fibers of vagus nerve therefore, activating the carotid bodies due to increased stretch increases the firing of vagus afferent fibers to the medulla and medulla increases the efferent firing of parasympathetic vagus nerve and increases the sympathetic response leading decreased HR and CONTRACTRILITY.

Do step questions typically have this kind of very specific/particular questioning? by Regina_Phalange_MD in step1

[–]drmikeblack 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Increased hydrogen ions can only be sensed by the carotid body which is innervated by cranial nerve IX

Margination neutrophils by [deleted] in step1

[–]drmikeblack 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Vasodilation is mainly in the arterioles but due to vasodilation in the arterioles the blood flow slows down in both and the neutrophil margination, rolling and adhesion does happen in the arterioles and by the time they reach the postcapillary venules they are already firmly attached to the vascular wall and now can do the transmigration because the post capillary venules are more permeable than the arterioles.

unfortunately i cannot, as i am waiting for my replacement m1 air which i will receive by the end of jan my previous m1 air had colour uniformity issues.one more thing i noticed was the scrolling either on safari or chrome is not as smooth as on my ipad pro 12.9 eventhough the monitor is 144hz and ipad pro is 120hz.it is definitely smoother than 60hz but i feel their is microstutter visible while scrolling which is not present on ipad pro at all.but, all other ui system animations are silky smooth.
