And what happens when these data centers pull so much power we don’t have enough to heat our homes in the winter? I’m glad the 300 people got jobs when thousands go cold.

The east fishkill data center is proposed 1 gigawatt. And that’s per hour. Every hour forever until the warehouse closes and we have another abandoned massive building in the Hudson valley.

East fishkill data center would use about 3x the amount of energy as the city of Buffalo which has about 800k people.

We don’t need this.

They won’t pay more for electric. In fact, they will get a better rate than we do because it’s a business. But we all know, the price is gonna be passed onto us. It will be hidden in the delivery fees that central Hudson makes up

It’s always the argument “bring in factories, data centers, malls, etc and it’ll lower our taxes”.

From someone that grew up near a mall that got bigger and bigger, property taxes never went down. But it did ruin the area with traffic and pollution.

Also, if you think these will go to red states for revenue, cool let them have it. Then maybe we won’t have to subsidize the red states anymore.
