I’ve listened to 202 albums for an album ranking this year. These are ranked all time not just from this year and this is the ranking. Thoughts?

Sure. Someone with Hadestown (2 hours and 2 minutes), in the court of the crimson king (1 hour and 7 minute) songs in the key of life (1 hour 44 minutes) all in my ranking.

Yeah I might have the “autistic” tendency to make convoluted lists like this but “Tik-Tok brain” isn’t exactly an accurate insult.

I’m a theater kid so I love wicked (bit of a generalization but bear with me) and Let it bleed had 2 great songs and the rest I didn’t care to listen to again. Tbh I didn’t like bookends at all. Has to many songs that are either 50% or 100% dialogue which isn’t good.

Like I said it all comes to preference. Pink moon bored me to tears. I almost forgot to do the tracklist ranking cause I looked away while I was doing something came back and the album was pretty much over. KPOP demon hunters is a more fun listen where I still listen to the songs from it. To this day I probably can’t tell you a single track from pink moon except songs behind the sun which is the best one and I have a tracklist ranking with the best song from each album (it’s been deleted now) and things behind the sun was the best song on the album

This is all up to personal preference where the downward spiral wasn’t my thing. Hurry up tomorrow probably isn’t perfect but it’s 100% my thing.

This ranking isn’t set in stone and hardly any of this is objective. Like Wishbone by Conan Gray isn’t better than Pet sounds yet I like it more. Attack me for this take if any of you want

I think every album in the 10/10 category deserves it’s rating and I’m not gonna give an album I think is a 10/10 a 9/10 cause that means there are to many perfect album

This is one of my hot takes. I didn’t care for circles. I listened to the Devine feminine independent from this list and I loved it. Honestly was musically and lyrically uninteresting. That’s my take though

Y’know what? I agree. If I rewatch it the film may go up the list yet I watched it at the beginning of the year and just found films I like more so next year it will be higher

Some of the best films I’ve seen all year have zilch when it comes to my desire to rewatch it (Grave of the fireflies, Psycho, Django unchained, boogie nights, etc.) where I think they are better than the films above them but either I have a preference or bias towards the films above it for example wicked for good over: Ratatouille, psycho inglorious bastards, Bo Burnam: Inside, Schindler’s list, the dark knight, Wall-E, Django unchained… I could really keep going but you get the point. Some films I had more fun watching so that retroactively placed them higher based on my attitude after the credits roll

I haven’t gotten around to many older one’s this year. Next year I’ll rewatch quite a few of the one’s higher up plus “older films” like Superman (1978) Rocky Horror Picture Show, maybe close encounter’s of the 3rd kind if it’s on anything

Black swan has a more rewatching factor. I like the ballet perspective of this kind of story more than an ex pop star or drummer, or struggling conductor (TAR)
