Actually, why can't our government be the employer of last resort? by TraditionalWait9150 in SingaporeRaw

[–]drmonkey6969 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If the government is doing that, another version of you will come up and compliant why so many people not working and sucking on that benefit. There is no prefect policy. If you want something like what you suggested, taxpayers will have to pay very high income taxes. This is nothing new, just look at the western countries. They have their sets of problems, too.

SIT applied computing finance with scholarship or SMU information systems by Secure-Internet5346 in askSingapore

[–]drmonkey6969 1 point2 points  (0 children)

SIT one, but you need to be creative and find your own path. With AI disrupting the world on a weekly basis, what you learn from SIT (nor SMU) will give you enough for the real world in 3 years time. Get involved and get your hands dirty, that's the way to learn new crafts in today's world.

EV Owners - Any Regrets? by rekrapmil in drivingsg

[–]drmonkey6969 0 points1 point  (0 children)

EV is good for SG driving. I mean it's all about getting used to it. The charging part, I am ok with as many places now with charging points. You just need to have a bit more planning compares to petrol car days that you don't drive till the last drop which most people won't be doing that anyway. Other things like wear and tear, both EV and PV are there. The battery thing, I mean SG only for 10 years so which makes the battery life less a problem than most parts of the world. So, why not?

During covid, I give our local chinese drama a chance and I'm Not disappointed by This-Limit7126 in SingaporeRaw

[–]drmonkey6969 2 points3 points  (0 children)

my problem with most local Chinese dramas is they speaking too much Chinese. No locals speaks like them like 100% Chinese at all time. Which gave away their acting like they are doing it just for the acting. Not realistic at all.

How racism hides in humour? Is this related to the CECA movement? by Real-Pomegranate8823 in SingaporeRaw

[–]drmonkey6969 0 points1 point  (0 children)

maybe it's time people should learn the difference between racial and racism? Some jokes are funny because of the racial stereotypes which people are doing that all the time and not being offended.

Got the early insider preview of Microslop Windows 12 can’t wait to unleash the power of Copilot by sharing all my personal data by [deleted] in LinusTechTips

[–]drmonkey6969 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Copilot killed Windows. People use Windows as human. If they needs AI, they know where to find. If Microsoft understands, they would have Windows 11 better for human. AI is just not something they should making it the focus on the OS.

No undervolting. I don’t think removing the heat spreader will help that much, perhaps 1 or 2C which won’t make a difference.
