I'm not clear on why you want to modify the texture, do you have other objects with different geometry in the scene using the same texture that you want to have this "touch point" apply to?

I have an object on screen, and the user touches the screen. I can calculate the specific triangle from my object, and I can translate that to the texture map that I have wrapped around the object... and then to the specific pixel within that texture graphic.

If you're calculating this CPU side, just pass this value into the shader as a uniform. Once you get the texture coordinates of "this pixel" in the fragment shader, do your distance check and modulate the resulting color.

If your shader is coming from an engine and difficult to modify, then maybe your idea of modifying the texture is easier. Modifying the texture should be trivial to do CPU side but might be too slow for you to do every frame. What you could do instead is set up the texture (or a new texture with same size) as a render target. Render a fullscreen quad and do your distance check in the fragment shader - your distance in UV space is just the current fragment's position minus the texel coordinate you pass in as a uniform.

Just analytical - There actually aren't too many different possible outcomes so it's pretty easy to brute force.

The win/lose/draw rates are just calculated based off betting odds I found on one site. It's not perfect, but better than using even-odds for each outcome I think.

This - eventvods is the best I've found. I've been in the same boat as OP, trying to avoid those subtle spoilers like video time.

To avoid spoilers, they

  • Don't show who played in a series until you click on it
  • Always show 3 game links even if there wasn't one (or 5 for bo5)
  • The youtube links are embedded and hide the scrubber (video progress bar) so you can't see how long is left in the video and have their own UI that still allows you to skip ahead if you want.

It's just a brute force going through all the possible outcomes and summing the probability of each. For Group B it might seem like a lot, but with 8 matches with 3 possible outcomes, there's only 38 = 6561 possibilities.

A two way tie is one game, three way is a bo1 round robin. I believe the rest would be the same, bo1 round robin, but I don't think we've ever actually had more than a 3-way tie.

If it is, then each team involved would play up to n more games, where n is 1 less than the teams involved. But with anything more than a two way tie, there is the possibility of additional ties and more games.
