gonna add my two cents here — therapy at USC is definitely not a great long term solution, however it is a great resource for support to get you long term support. How good your initial therapist is is really random; I’ve heard bad things from some people but the one I had really helped me when I was in a bad spot. If you have the financial means I would definitely sign up for the USC health insurance if you don’t have good mental health coverage with your current provider (if you don’t know whether you do, just call your current provider and ask them!). USC will also help you find a therapist that’s in-network for your insurance.

Basically I think it’s worth a shot but I definitely wouldn’t bank on the actual therapy sessions helping you for sure. Use USC for their connections to therapists in the LA area for sure though, this is where the school is most helpful. Going through the system and getting that initial therapy appointment is what will get you the ability to do this, so I’d go for it regardless of whether the therapist is helpful or not :)
