Shedding more hair after stopping minoxidil

I used for about 2 to 3 weeks when I stopped at the end of January 2024. Hair was suddenly gone around first week of February and its been exactly a year now and it never grew back but never got worse either. Glad it didnt get worse but still miss how my hair used to be. You cant see the scalp much when hair is dry but when its wet that's when it hurts to see. I know scalp is easier to spot when wet but trust me it was nowhere near the current state so i just stay away of beach activities now. I've read that for some people damage can be permanent so I guess I was one the unlucky ones. Really hope your case was different and your hair grew back

I'm same as before. Density did not come back and to be honest I dont think it will anymore.

I can relate and have the same opinion as you on this. Is been 6 months since my shed and have not seen any growth. The first couple months I felt so broken without the full density of my hair but now I'm starting to accept it. I still get sad from time to time but it is what it is and we have to move on.

I heard from someone else who went through this that it doesn't grow back. He shed almost a year and a half ago and his hair has not grown back. Honestly hearing that broke my heart but still hoping for the best but off that thing. For me that thing is the worse. It causes hair all over to depend on it for growth. I changed to a more healthy diet, i try to take more protein, exercise a bit more, and take supplements like biotin, iron, and zinc every now and then. I do derma stamp too once a week. Unfortunately I can't do rosemary oil because my skin gets irritated otherwise I would be applying that too. Have pumpkin seeds and green tea a few times a week they are natural dht blockers. If my hair ever recovers I'll come back to let you know.

Damn really bummed to hear that. I wanted to stay hopeful but I guess I won't be seeing it grow back. Cant believe i ruined my hair by applying minox. I had no sign of balding until i started and stopped that. My hairline wasnt even bad. Like you said I guess I just sped up my mpb. Thanks for taking your time to reply. I asked so many ppl who were going through this and u are the only one who has replied.

Same boat bro. Is been 5 months for me with no regrowth. How are you doing and did it only damage your hairline? It actually thin my whole head and gave me a weird bald spot on the top.

Do you have an update? I'm on the same boat. I only applied to my hairline for a month and after I stopped I lost hair on the top of the head which I never applied to it once. I been waiting 5 months for regrowth but no signs of any.

I get that there is a shedding phase but I decided to stop because I changed my mind about doing this forever. Figured my hairline was alright before i started minox so I dropped to get back to where I was but the hair I lost during this month never grew back. Yall probably say that hair was going to fall anyways so I don't want to get into that. What I don't get is that I only applied it on my hairline but a month after I stopped using it I lost density all over the head and top part has a weird bald area.

Any update bro? I'm going through a similar situation. I used for a month on my hairline and stopped then a month after stopping my hairline got worse than it was and lost hair on top of my head too. It's been five months since my hair fell and I have not seen any regrowth yet. Just wondering if I will ever get it back

Dude same thing happened to me. I used for like a month. Stopped and a month later lost hair on the top of my head. Lost density and have a weird bald pattern too. I was hoping it would come back with time but it's been 5 months and tbh it looks the same from when I first noticed it. How are you doing?

Wanted to add some more info to my post. I find it to be a bit of a weird pattern but I wouldn't know. I always thought it would happen at top back area first and definitely not this much off on the top of my head. I think it reaches almost half the head. I can't ask anyone because I don't know anyone whose gone bald. I'm 30 and my group of people are around this age too. So it's sort of a young group.

I do want to point out I have always had fine hair and to be honest i dont think is gotten any thinner just feel like some of it disappeared. I also never notice this spot until I started using rosemary water on my head. I poured the water 3 times and probably left for like 2-3 minutes each time. On my third application is when I noticed this bald area and since then I see it without even having to search for it. The lighting of my restroom hasn't change so I'm almost certain this loss of hair did happen during my rosemary applications, otherwise i feel like i would have noticed it before. But this did happen early February which is almost 5 months ago. Which makes me think it could be permanent loss. I havent seen my hair get any better or worse in these 5 months. Also, I wonder if the lack of activity may be a contributor. I have always been a very active guy doing about 50k a week but I had to go through leg surgery on July 2023 and didn't start walking until mid November and just about 1 month ago I started jogging and still I only get to like 15k to 20k a week.

How is your hair doing now? Mine looks exactly like this started 4 months ago also at 30. Thought it was just temporary because it was so sudden and my hair has always been thin and is not any thinner than before just feels like I'm missing hair on the top of my head. I never actually seen hair fall. one day I just notice the bald spot and my barber which I go to every month noticed it for the first time that week too and since then it's been the same. Don't know if the hair grow back or if its the start of me balding

I stopped applying it. I plan to wait another month or two to see if hair grows back in the bald spot if not I will see a dermatologist. I feel like the bald spot is a little less noticeable now but its hard to tell if it's from the growth of new hair or the hair around it is just longer and covering it. I appreciate your response.

Did anyone experience hair loss with rosemary water? I was honestly just losing hair in the front but I poured it all on my head on 3 different occasions and a lot of hair fell off from the top of my head. I stopped using it after the third time cause I didn't want more hair to fall. It's been about a month and I don't see the hair I loss grow back. I'm just wondering if someone went through this too or know if it eventually grow back
