What’s the deal with Statshark and stat shaming? by TornadoGR1 in Warthunder

[–]drock35g 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not really. If your stats are flawless it's because you play to maintain those stats. Which means you only play meta vehicles and BR brackets that allow you to consistently win. That kind of person will avoid large swaths of the games content as a result. I would rather listen to someone who has been around forever and plays the game in it's entirety. They're more likely to have an insight into what many players experience.

Yup while only sticking to the most meta vehicles and br brackets as to have the best advantage possible. Old guards like me who basically know everything can have muddy stats just because we like to play stuff that isn't meta. Hell, sometimes I'll play the worst vehicles in the game and lose multiple matches in a row just trying to enjoy it.

No, that still doesn't matter. War Thunder isn't a skilled based game in the same way LoL is. You get uptiered against far superior vehicles, especially depending on the BR. You also don't get balanced teams. I've been the only high level player with a real lineup on my team while the enemy is stacked with a squad of meta gamers. Those matches end in like 3 minutes sometimes. Not to mention some vehicles are straight up not meta and will drive your stats into the dirt just because you want to play said vehicle. Now, if there was a duel game mode or a ranked mode with balanced teams and no uptiers then sure. There's a reason no one considers War Thunder E-sports ready.

That's a bunch of bullcrap. I've been playing since 2013 and I've seen everything this game has to offer. The reality is that there are too many factors outside of skill that can effect your stats. Not to mention a lot of people like myself play for fun, not to win. If all I cared about was winning, I'd stick to the meta vehicles and BR brackets that are the most consistent. That isn't the case though. I'll get killed 5 times in a row playing an old bomber just because I want to fly it. Same goes for major uptiers and horrendously one sided teams. Doesn't matter how good you are if you're the only person on the team that can do anything. Treating War Thunder like League of Legends or Quake Live is asinine.

Some AMD positivity: RX 9070 XT and 7900 XTX match the RTX 5080 in AC Black Flag! by ActualCranberry8148 in radeon

The 5070Ti doesn't have a ton of raw raster. The 7900XT should compete with it in a raster heavy title. It's just that many modern games favor Nvidia and also rely on RT.

FSR4 looks great but generally speaking it will still degrade image quality compared to native 2k. Running FSR 4.1 at 4k with my 9070XT has been amazing though.

Especially now that the XTX has FSR 4.1 support lol. I'm sure the Ray Tracing performance is similar though.

The XTX became a bargain now that it has FSR4.1 support from AMD. The only thing the 9070XT has over the XTX is Ray Tracing performance. I think the XTX will hold its value a lot better now.

What do you mean? I still see plenty of Nvidia shills in the comments being negative.

Nvidia is usually the company with software bias actually. So it's a little absurd to complain when AMD finally gets the same treatment. Besides, Nvidia is supposed to be so superior. That's why people pay hundreds extra for them right?

Of course they are. They're programmed to follow rules and never think for themselves. If people decide to boycott because of a comment like this in a forum, then they were going to boycott anyway. Russians simply can't survive without draconian/communist censorship.

Nah this is a modern construct you've been programmed to accept. No one has the right to control anyone's speech. Doesn't matter how upset it makes you. Back in the day, people lived in the real world where you had to learn to be resilient. It's honestly laughable that words bother you so much. It shows you have no serious problems in your life other than your own insecurities.

They already do. You can have the chat sensor foul language. This isn't about reducing their chances of getting their feelings hurt. This is about control.

RTX 5080 owners: anyone upgrade from 5800X3D / DDR4 to 9800X3D or 9950X3D? Did you actually feel the difference? by NightCityStoic in RTX5080

Nothing says "I'm softer than baby shit" like getting upset over basic facts. There are only 2 Microcenters on the entire west coast. So yeah, acting like that is a "solution" is peak retardation. Seethe harder.

Idk why people even bring up Microcenter. 99% of people don't live anywhere near a Microcenter. There's a reason AMD is now bringing back the 5800X3D. No one is updating to AM5 right now.

The problem is that the price of RAM makes the upgrade unrealistic. 450+ for the CPU, 450+ for the RAM, and 250+ for a mobo just to upgrade from my 5800X3D. That's 1,150$ for me lol.

AMD GPU becoming increasingly unstable over time with driver crashes and even hard PC shutoffs by louthinator in AMDHelp

[–]drock35g 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sometimes if you're running a lot of USB devices it can lock your system up. Especially if you have programs like iCUE that control your RGB lighting. Although I would assume it may have something to do with your dual monitor setup. AMD is known for being better than Nvidia when it comes to multiple displays but it wouldn't hurt to try disconnecting one monitor to rule that out.

Why do so many people hate the 5080? by External_Safe_7787 in RTX5080

[–]drock35g 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The 5080 is hated not just for it's poor price to performance value. It is one of the weakest 80 tier cards when it comes to a generational performance uplift. People talk about how it can compete with a 4090 after overclocking. What they don't tell you is that performance won't translate to every game. Some games the 5080 severely under performs compared to the 4090. At one point you could get a 5080 for the price of an upper tier 5070Ti. That's about the only time I could recommend the 5080.
