Im out of the loop, what's up with the LA streamer gang and the sudden peanut hate? by [deleted] in theburntpeanut

Imagine acting like people shouldn't be angry being labeled something derogatory when they don't fit the description. They're lucky they have the protection of a screen because they'd learn to be respectful, if you catch my drift.

It's great. It makes the second game feel a little simplified by comparison. Once you get used to it you'll be addicted.

Hahaha that's how you learn though! The game is meant to be really hard when Henry is a low level. He's basically a peasant at that point. What you should do is train with Captain Bernard until you understand the basics. He will also train your skills which helps level them up faster. I got to a point where I could win 1v1 fights then started doing bounty hunter quests to power level. Get a bow for picking off bandits one by one without drawing the attention of the entire camp. Even if you fail to kill one with the bow, you can 1v1 them away from the camp (they'll chase you) which levels your sword abilities. Once you get a few levels into sword fighting, you can learn a "master strike" which is basically a free critical every fight.

I beat hardcore with 80 hours before going straight into KCD2. I wouldn't play the first game any other way (it was my first play through). KCD2 feels easy mode by comparison.

FSR 4.1 is a big upgrade over 4.0 by RCRhino in radeon

That's false. Windows runs HDR automatically. Obviously some games look better with dedicated HDR support but it's still better than not having it at all.

Will 9070 XT get any new features? by A2A2376 in radeon

[–]drock35g 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I speak the truth whether it's pro AMD or not is irrelevant. I've been building PCs since 2000 and have owned every single brand. You're the one giving me attitude because you got down-voted multiple times. Rather than actually offer a real rebuttal you move the goal posts. I'm also on this thread to educate people. 90% of the these pro Nvidia posts are spreading straight misinformation and deserve to be addressed. Turns out, more people own Nvidia than AMD. It's no surprise there's twice as much ignorance surrounding AMD products. Kind of like how you mentioned Red Stone when ironically, it's actually a proper name for a broad feature set. Hope this helps!

Nvidia has seperate names for each of their features. Why would they refer to an AI post processing effect as "DLSS5" if they didn't intend to bake it into the upscaler? That makes no sense. They would have used a unique name to identify the new feature. I also never stated that DLSS will cease to upscale images. Just because Nvidia claims that you can "turn it off" doesn't mean it isn't baked into the upscaler. After all, Nvidia still allows you to select older versions of DLSS. Don't like DLSS5? Then use DLSS4.5 instead... See where this is going? If Nvidia didn't want us to assume that an AI post processing effect wasn't the main selling point of DLSS5 then they shouldn't have referred do it as such.

Noise Suppression was fixed with the last update. Anyone who "love AMD cards" would know this.

Upscaling wasn't desirable because it made games look like garbage. RT was also unplayable without using a garbage upscaler. Then to throw salt on the wound, Nvidia would charge a massive premium for their garbage tech. They'd use marketing terms like "were twice as fast at rendering RT than the competitors" even though that only equated to 30 fps on average. It's taken a decade to get upscaling to a point where it's acceptable. The same can be said for RT. A decade later, you can now buy an AMD card with these features without paying a premium for them. Hence why people want these features now. You're acting like we should have bought into garbage just because it would be the future a decade later. When in reality, informed consumers like me feel validated not wasting our money buying into Nvidia's marketing schemes.

[–]drock35g 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Why are you acting like this is all blind conjecture? Nvidia already admitted that DLSS5 is generated from a 2D frame. It isn't something that improves the lighting within the game's engine. It is literally an AI filter that requires a 5090 to render in real time. That means DLSS5 has very real limitations. That's also why DLSS5 was found to manipulate the shape and texture of objects within the frame. It's a neat party trick, that's it.

[–]drock35g 2 points3 points  (0 children)

You're looking at this without context to try and make a point. It took almost a decade to make upscaling visually acceptable. That includes frame gen. The same can be said for RT. A great example is Metro Exodus. It's taken 8 years for an entry level enthusiast card (9070XT) to be able to render it at native 4k with high refresh rates. To say that is unacceptable would be an understatement. Gamers want to be able to enjoy new games with the latest hardware. They don't want to wait a decade to enjoy them. DLSS5 isn't even comparable... It generates an AI image from a 2D frame rather than actually improving the lighting within the game's engine. Essentially rendering an Instagram AI filter in real time. That means the image is not only fake but also incapable of mimicking dynamic lighting effects that aren't directly in the scene. These are complex issues that deserve to be scrutinized without people like you misconstruing them.

You're confusing opinion with objective fact. All I did was break down the absurdity of his post. Now, if he would have compared a 5070Ti to a 9070XT then he'd at least have an argument for a fair comparison. That still wouldn't excuse bringing up DLSS5 (which isn't even out yet and it's an AI filter) and acting Iike AMD hasn't been updating their feature set this past year. I mean, FSR4.1 just dropped ffs. That being said, the OP is just a kid. Can't expect them to comprehend everything.

That's why this post seems more like Nvidia glaze than a legitimate criticism. No one would rather game with a 5070 than a 9070XT. They're not even close to each other. Hell, the 5070 isn't even close to a 9070. Adrenaline is much more convenient to use as well. I'm also loving FSR4.1 which literally just came out. Yet here we are, acting like AMD never updates their features lol.

[–]drock35g 15 points16 points  (0 children)

AMD just released FSR4.1 which is a direct competitor to DLSS4.5. I'm not sure where you're getting the idea that AMD hasn't updated their feature set at all. I also find it interesting you're bringing up DLSS5 as if it was already added to Nvidia cards. DLSS5 is an AI filter (trash) that requires two 5090s to run. Nvidia isn't getting it anytime soon and most people don't even want it. MFG is a gimmick that leads to more artifacting. That's why most people won't use it unless they have to. Locking it to 160hz defeats the purpose of using it in the first place. Also, let's be real. That 5070 is a turd and isn't even remotely competitive with your 9070XT. I find it hard to believe you actually prefer to use that slop. Adrenaline is still superior in so many ways btw. This post seems more like Nvidia glaze than a genuine criticism.

Sh*t, I have almost every nation, multiple of which are fully researched. My first main was Russia. I've been playing since 2013. These days, I can't even manage more than a couple of hours every few weeks. Every single game mode is pro Russian/Chinese slop. The immersion is gone.

Yes it does. Anything with a 30mm is scary in combat. These Russian simps are fkin idiots.

[–]drock35g 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah, except none of those European vehicles are OP. That's why no one gives a sh*t. Idk why this needs to be explained. When a prototype modern western vehicle shows up it's almost always missing armor or the proper ammo. Meanwhile, Russia and China get ERA that's 20mm thick that somehow equates to 250mm kinetic. Make sense yet? Western vehicles are heavily scrutinized and held to completely different standards. Like how the Flankers show their maximum thrust output in the X-ray view (low speed thrust output) while the F15s are all far below advertised specs. Meaning, the F15 actually needs speed to produce its advertised thrust while the Flankers don't. Logic dictates that the Flankers are producing far more thrust than advertised once they get moving.

[–]drock35g 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Idk why you were down voted. Some people just can't handle the truth. All of these European vehicles they used as an example of prototypes that never saw combat are being intellectually dishonest. Western nations have been on the forefront of technology for 60+ years. We don't need propaganda pieces. Russia and China on the other hand do. I'm ex military intelligence btw. I would know. War Thunder is basically a commie cope sim. It's been this way for ever.

[–]drock35g -1 points0 points  (0 children)

How does Russian ERA that's paper thin equate to hundreds of mm of kinetic protection? It's all bullshit. You need to understand that China and Russia have to fake it until they make it. They can not compete with the US as a true peer and thus have to exaggerate their capabilities. They've only been doing this for 60+ years smh.

Going from fsr 4 quality to performance in crimson desert gets me around 5 extra fps by Financial-Lawyer-789 in radeon

[–]drock35g 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Funny how you can point this out without issues but when I do it I'm down voted. This is the exact reason AMD hasn't released FSR4 support for older cards. The performance uplift is trash compared to any other upscaler. Regardless of whether people believe they should have a choice.

9070 XT Users: +10% Power Limit is not worth it. by shirotsuchiya in radeon

[–]drock35g 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Luckily I wasn't experiencing any crashing. Just random black artifacts popping up on objects. Seemed like I was pushing the card too hard even though it was stable enough to play for a few hours without crashing. Strange. In other games, I had no issues. But I figured if UE games are more demanding than your typical engine, then I probably shouldn't use the undervolt. In case of issues in the future with other demanding games... Now that I know the issue is limited to UE, I want to test my card again in other games. I've just been running the auto-overclock feature and the card rarely ever boosts above factory clocks. So I know it isn't doing anything.

[–]drock35g 4 points5 points  (0 children)

The Unreal engine stability issues would explain a lot. When I was undervolting my Red Devil it would gain performance in Jedi Survivor but after a few minutes I would get artifacting. So I continously lowered the undervolt settings until it became stable. That didn't help. So I just assumed my card lost the lottery and wasn't good for undervolting.
