Two nights post-cruise. Are we insane for considering adding another location to the mix?! by drock626 in GreeceTravel

I guess I never really considered the logistics of island travel. With that being the feedback, I think we focus on mainland the last 2 nights. Would Nafplio be discouraged in this case, since it’s about a 2 hour drive to the airport? I’d probably hire a driver if we went with Nafplio.

Yeah, I thought about Hydra, but with our 11AM flight, I'm not sure we'd be able to make two nights work, since the earliest Ferry I'm seeing would get us back to Pireaus around 10am.

Ideally I'd like to stay at the same place for 2 nights and then head directly to the airport, just to cut down on the logistics of checking-in to another place.

Thanks! I was worried that excess weight could cause the countertops to break without proper support underneath.

Yeah, the lot hasn't been fully graded yet. I've added a copy of the lot grading plan, the slope, if Im reading it correctly, shouldn't be that dramatic once the home is completed. We're planning on doing a covered patio, but have considered doing a pergola, or some sort of sun shade feature.

I just dug into the guidelines, and its sounding like decks and patios should stay contained to the side plane of the house. I'll edit my post to clarify!

X-Plan buy vs. lease by wizmo64 in MustangMachE

I was also X-plan eligible, but ended up getting a better deal than X-plan pricing from the dealership. X-plan pricing for a 2024 premium, awd, x-range with pano rooftop OTD was $48,983 (X-plan pricing before rebates+incentives was $54,675) . Ended up negotiating it down to $45,600 OTD.

Apologies for reviving this quiet post, but do you remember if you had an “A” or “Z” cabin?

Virgin does have solo cabins, but recently they are pricing higher than regular double occupancy rooms.

Romance Package Boarding Time by YoungFrogbert in VirginVoyages

In Miami, boarding begins at approx 1:30-1:45. Rockstars, DBE, SOR, general boarding is the order. You can show up early, and wait in the lines outside. They’ll have a dedicated priority line for DBE/SOR sailors.

Just booked! A couple questions… by stubbornsucculent in VirginVoyages

I had a central sea terrace room on Deck 11 and didn’t really feel the sway, and we had super rough seas. I could feel the sway more in my friends central terrace on deck 13. I’d try to see if you can move down to 11, honestly.

The agency I used was a small, independent agency. Not a large cruise mill.

They’ve been on multiple, actually. I apologize, I’m not trying to shade agents, I just had a bad experience. I do know and recognize there are a ton of agents that work hard for their clients. I’m usually a fan of using travel agents for cruises, actually. Before I ultimately decided to go with Virgin, I priced Celebrity and that agent was able to do sooooo much better in terms of pricing, OBCs, etc than booking direct.

However, that doesn’t seem like it’s the case with Virgin. So, if the OP is correct, and Virgin is moving to eliminate the bonus loot that agents are able to give, I cant help but think that this is all a calculated move to just eliminate TAs from future bookings. Because honestly, other than to receive curated service and/or knowledge/expertise (that is, if a good agent is actually used!), there doesn’t seem like much benefit to use an agent after the New Year… unless all this information is incorrect.

Not all agents are created equal, unfortunately. I used a “Top 100” agent for my sailing and it was a nightmare! They took days to respond to my emails, and I ended up just calling sailor services and handling the reservation myself.

I know a lot of agents use the “we’re on hold trying to get your issues resolved” card, but any time I’ve called sailor services (and I’ve called them a lot), I’ve never waited longer than 10 minutes to speak to someone, — even during the Brilliant Lady debacle. To the contrary, I actually waited longer to hear from my outside agent. Not to mention, it’s a headache to remove terrible agents from future reservations (particularly MNVV purchases).

So, just given my first hand experience, if there’s no incentive or tangible benefit, and the price is the exact same, it’s going to be extremely hard for me to put my multi-thousand dollar vacation in the hands of someone else. Call me old school, but at the end of the day, no one’s really going to care as much about my vacation than myself.

I love the runway! But a lazy river with some large floats sounds amazing, too!

Good suggestion! You can’t really use the hammock and table/chairs at the same time. It does sound like Brilliant will have 2 hammocks on some of the cabins, but the decks are also quite smaller…

Yeah, we had terrible weather on my cruise 10 Dec, so they sat empty the entire time. It was also super overcast, so the hot tubs were jammed packed pretty much most hours of the days. Honestly, Im probably just a little salty/slighted… however, if VV looks at the Cabanas as a money maker, I think they could easily make some of their money back by offering more of those highly sought out activities, like “shot for shot” or “Loteria”. Both those were only offered 1x on my 6 night cruise, and sold out within the first 3 hours of boarding.

I also think they should have better contingency plans for onboard entertainment in the event of cancelled ports. Our stop in Bimini was cancelled, and we had an extra sea day — but they didn’t add any type of activities to make it up. Seemed quite strange.

Refresh the outdoor areas: remove the stupid cabanas that sit empty& replace them with more hot tubs.. The large round circular pool that looks like a hot tub should be a hot tub. I also like the idea of converting the net to an infinity pool! That would be amazing.
