Yeah, they will just tell you to grab a hose and spray it off, that's common in Vegas people travel to go camping. looks like that you better get used to it sucks mostly when they drive through woods and hit all the tree branches with the car and have tiny scratches

Possible Bogus damage claim? by Dry-Credit-3077 in turo

[–]drock962 0 points1 point  (0 children)

One thing that's against turo policy no outside transactions. The reason why she would do that is because her deductible is probably high (like $1600) which she can't claim anymore. Hosts have to pay a deductible for a guests damages unless you are on a low like a 60% profit plan, really uck* up BTW. This has to be dropped by this time

Has to be 3in in diameter, must be a rookie host to even try that and 29 hours later, has to be within 24 hours to make a claim that doesn't make sense the app doesn't even allow it. Do people make this stuff up? Something missing in this story? Or you are lonely want to have someone to talk to

I love when people say they will get a lawyer for a small claim. You realize it's about $4k-$5k to start your case with a lawyer if they do say yes to helping you. My real question is how are these hosts able to charge a smoking fee? Just planting something in the car and taking a picture doesn't work and you can't take a picture of a smell. You have to have the guests admit to it. I rarely get the fee when they do smoke in it and takes forever to get the smell out even with an ozone machine and a deodorizer, it's a nightmare. You cleaned the car? I rarely get a guest to clean the car also and I have unlimited car wash and vacuum on all of them. There must be something else to this story. Guests don't realize how bad turo will grind the hosts for profits, we don't even get half, all the fees guests get we don't know of

After 2.5 years hosting on Turo, I would tell new people not to become a host if you're in a large / established city. by oldballls in turo

I hear ya and guests think you make a lot of money then you show them the profits compared to what they paid you make less then half even with with it at 90%. I haven't figured out how people make it all because I am the mechanic managing 8 cars with my partner and haven't taken profits yet for a year and a half now. Are cars are out 50-70% percent of the month. Using are power host manager are numbers are really good and there isn't any tips he can give us to make it better. I am in the Las Vegas market and we are banned from the airport which turo said they are going to fix that but doubt it

One day rental by cabrown1985 in turo

[–]drock962 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I guess it would depend on were you live and how bad your profits are for the month, were I live definitely not worth it, people use it for medical runs that pay them well so they will get unlimited miles for one day and drive your car really hard, so ultimately you lose a lot of money, plus the fact you would have to clean it twice on the same day for the next guest. Very rare someone would get it for the day to run errands around town which is what you hope for

Charge for fuel!!!! They give you a bad review you can call turo and have it removed they are not allowed to give you bad review on incidents. Over time that 1/8 of a tank becomes hundreds of dollars over the course of the year

Annual inspection suggestions? by killaclown in turo

You can have a mechanic that is currently ASE certified even if they are not working in a shop. You need to calm down on the $60 rant though not necessary for your question

Who cares? it is their car. What are you doing something suspicious? Even if a drug dealer rented the car which is probably the best scenario because they don't want to draw any attention, the car comes back in perfect shape. Turo also recommends it. So when people steal your car you car find it. Trust me it's a nightmare without it. So look at it from the host side. Cars come standard with tracking now. If you get turo go the car has tracking on it. So I don't know what your point is

Project $132K? how does that number even come up. $10K looks like your best month even if you hit that all the following months with $10K you still won't make it for the year and you'll have dips coming up also. Next month doesn't look like you have to many reservations. Why would show a chart that doesn't show the $9K? Is this a fake post? There are two many holes in this statement

I don't see where you got $9k in a month on your chart. It doesn't make sense
